We're very pleased to welcome you to Meadow View, uniquely located beside the lake in the heart of the beautiful Chew Valley, Bath and North East Somerset.

An ideal place to explore the countryside and the nearby cities of Bath, Bristol, Frome and Wells, as well as the Mendip Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the pretty North Somerset Coast.

We look forward to welcoming you for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Our bed and breakfast is within easy travelling distance of the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath, Bristol, Frome and England's smallest city: Wells, and the pretty North Somerset Coast, with beautiful country walks and cycle routes accessed right from our front door.

We're also fortunate enough to be in the Mendip Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There's plenty to do right on our doorstep too, with walking and cycling, birdwatching and fishing, some of the country's best restaurants, as well as our own Culinary School to enjoy.

When we travel, we love discovering places to stay that are friendly and inviting, with enthusiastic hosts, comfortable beds, immaculate amenities and wonderful breakfasts made with great produce.

It's been our aim to offer just that here at Meadow View.

We are pleased to offer two modern, stylish and comfortable double-bedded guest rooms within our calm, quiet, welcoming and exceptional bed and breakfast.

Providing tasteful and informal accommodation in a peaceful village, this is the perfect place to unwind.

Our first double-bedded guest room has a picturesque view across our meadow, gardens and fruit orchard, out toward the Chew Valley. This room is fully en-suite with a large double shower.

Our second double-bedded guest room overlooks gardens, and has exclusive use of a separate large bathroom with shower and full length bath. All our showers are ‘rain’ and power assisted.

Both rooms are located along a separate corridor off the main first-floor landing, and are sympathetically decorated using ecologically friendly paint.

Room amenities include: full high-definition LCD television with freeview and DVD/CD player; FM/DAB/DAB+ radio with dual alarm; high-speed fibre optic mesh WiFi; dedicated USB charging for devices; fairtrade and organic cotton/linen bathrobes; electric shaver/toothbrush power points; heated towel rails; high thread-count fairtrade and organic cotton bedsheets and linens; Baavet® organic British wool duvets; comfortable, naturally hypoallergenic pillows, and plenty of deep-pile Egyptian cotton towels.

We have a wide selection of books, games, and DVDs for our guests enjoyment.

Our breakfasts are prepared from the freshest seasonal produce of known provenance, avoiding questionable additives. Sourced from as close to home as quality allows.

If we can make food from scratch, we will ...

Our own delicious pressed crisp apple juice (when we've had a good crop!); handmade organic sourdough; fantastic hand-roasted coffee from the lovely people at Monmouth Coffee; finest quality single-estate organic teas from Lalani & Co; local organic free-range eggs; local handmade organic gluten-free sausages and organic bacon; a2 beta-casein rich organic unhomogenised whole milk, yoghurt and butter; organic and fairtrade fresh fruit; organic mushrooms, tomatoes and herbs; and wholegrain organic cereals.

We also make our own jams, marmalade and preserves, as well as traditional high-fruit sugar free organic conserves, and handmade organic Viennoiserie.

All of our tap water is automatically in-line filtered.

In the gardens at Meadow View we grow our own selection of: herbs; blackberries; blackcurrants; blueberries; cherries; cob nuts; damsons; figs; loganberries; plums; raspberries; five types of English apples and have an established walnut tree.

We use this great produce in our Culinary School as well as for our Bed and Breakfast guests.

Our tariff includes cleaning (we don't set an extra fee on airbnb for what should be included!), accommodation, room amenities, organic and fairtrade tea/coffee, organic Continental and full English breakfast, high-speed secure fibre optic mesh WiFi, parking and/or secure bicycle storage, TESLA® electric vehicle charging and all applicable taxes.

We have ample private, off-street secure parking and bicycle storage, and we are able to quickly re-charge electric vehicles.

Garment laundry/drying service is available. A steam iron and ironing board means that you can always look your best.

We have a stock of adapters, leads and chargers (including international ones), in case of need.

Gdje ćete biti

Bishop Sutton, Engleska, Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo

The Chew Valley is unique in the West Country, comprising some four hundred and seventy square kilometres of unspoilt and protected countryside, including The Mendip Hills: a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Valley occupies the area between Bath, Bristol and Wells, and the pretty North Somerset Coast.

Dominating the area are the lakes of Chew Valley and Blagdon: notable for their fishing, birdlife, hiking/walking, cycling, sailing and nature study amenities.

We're located beside Chew Valley Lake, in the heart of the valley. An important site for wildlife, Chew Valley Lake has been dedicated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Protection Area (SPA). It is a national centre for birdwatching, with over 260 species recorded, including some unusual sightings.

We're also fortunate enough to be in the Mendip Hills, a range of limestone hills designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB): this gives the whole area a level of protection comparable to that of a national park. The hills overlook the city of Bath, and are the source of its famous healing mineral waters.

The villages in the Valley are all unspoilt and each has its own individual charm and character. Local facilities in Bishop Sutton include a convenience shop, post office, hairdressers, a pub, a restaurant, and a tennis club. The village has regular bus services into central Bristol and Bath. The New Manor Farm Shop and Tea Rooms are just four minutes drive away from Meadow View.

The villages of Chew Magna and Chew Stoke, five minutes drive away, to the north of Chew Valley Lake: has an independent coffee shop, gift shops, bank, barbers, hairdresser and beauty therapists, post office, mini-supermarket, doctors surgery, gastro-pubs and a cricket club.

There are many fantastic local food markets in our area; the Chew Magna Women's Institute Market is on a Friday morning; the Bath Farmers' Market (which was the first in the country!) is on Saturday mornings; the Bath Artisan Market happens on Sundays during the year; Wells market which happens twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, the Bristol Slow Food Market on the first Sunday of every month, and the Frome Independent 'reclaim the high street' market is always very popular.

Only seven miles to the north of the Chew Valley is the City of Bristol, the West Country's financial and business centre, while the charming City of Bath, an UNESCO world heritage site, with its Roman origins and Georgian architectural masterpieces is under half an hour drive to the east. On the southern side of the Mendip Hills is the historic City of Wells, England's smallest, with its ancient Cathedral. Also just south of the Chew Valley is Frome: a market town with a charming historic centre; a wealth of architectural interest alongside a thriving contemporary and performing arts scene; and a wide variety of shops and cafés, many of them independent and specialist.

The renowned Cheddar Gorge is a short distance away offering spectacular views of mountain goats and Soay sheep on its precipitous slopes.

Those who are looking for outdoor pursuits can explore the caves of Wookey Hole; go for a glider flight; dodge paintballs; ride quad-bikes; go sailing or fishing right next-door to us on Chew Valley Lake; golfing; skiing or snowboarding; clay pigeon shooting or go-karting.
