As to the shower curtain, the unit is inspected after each guest checking out, although the curtain was in good condition then, and since you communicated the issue after a few days of your stay and due to 4th of July holiday, a new shower curtain was immediately purchased and given to you with a bottle of wine as a sign of respect and courtesy with apologies again and again.
I understand that you wanted to trade my antique beer growler which was a gift from my brother, with a plunger or a shower curtain linen, however, unfortunately, I could not do it and had to say no to that!
Regarding the noise from upstairs guests' kid, situations like this, as I am sure you could understand, is completely out of my or any host's control, I still communicated it with the guests who were very nice and accommodating, they addressed the issue immediately and even invited you to their 4th of July celebration at which it seemed like you had a great time as you mentioned it yourself too.
I tried to accommodate your last-minute reservation for the 4th of July holidays and had to go above and beyond for the same-day check-in. I strive to provide the best experience for my guests and will continue to do so. I hope you will have a great experience next time.
