We welcome the chance to respond to your issues.
Hawaii, as a tropical place, hosts both exotic flowers, and the flying and 6 legged critters that accompany a warm and moist environment.
Waialua, luckily, is a dryer area, that, along with ocean breezes, keeps the buggy population down. However, the State of Hawaii received historic amounts of rainfall this past season, which precipitated landslides and flooding in different parts of the state. This increased rain must have contributed to an increase in the buggies, though, the resident in the front portion of the property has consistently reported that she hasn't been bothered, nor has any quests until very recently reported any incidence of mosquitos.
However, as we say in Hawaii- "some people have sweeter blood".
We are searching around the property for standing water, and have installed a screen for the door.
As for the password- Airbnb precipitated the change of our password recently, and we have updated the Self Check In information. As I am currently dealing with the active lava eruption on the Big Island, we responded as soon as we were able to.
As for the lack of air conditioning- We as a family, and part of the larger North Shore community are very eco- conscious, and aim for a low energy footprint. Thus, we are clear in our ad that a/c is not included. For our guests comfort, we have installed a new ceiling fan, as well as a window fan.
Finally, there are myriad styles of Hosting, and while available for questions, we prefer not to hover, to allow our guests privacy, which most have appreciated. In addition, we currently work and call 2 different islands home, so we are not always on island when a guest arrives. The "wall of text" you refer to is a compilation of recommendations that previous guests have requested- ocean activities, hiking, and dining suggestions, along with comprehensive driving instructions, and our Video House Manual, all for the convenience of the Guest.
We wish you had voiced these concerns in our active communication via the portal, so that we may have found ways to make your stay more comfortable during your stay.
