I guess you didn't want to keep some of that feedback private, so I will say for me, I asked you twice prior to and during your stay if you had any concerns. You did not communicate with me at all over your stay and, and then choose to make your complaints public, so I had no chance to discuss them with you. You did leave a full bag of trash in the house which should have been moved to the shed. It was there for a day and a half, which gets stinky, but I guess I was more lenient on my review of you than you were for me.
Yes mountain houses on dirt roads have some dust, they have cobwebs, and spiders that rebuild quickly. Once every couple years complains about cobwebs. As far as having my housecleaners air out the house before your stay, please understand that my cleaners were there 4 days prior as there was a group there the previous week. ( I live a few hours away.) Yes it is damp up there and maybe they did not empty and reset the dehumidifier. I will be reiterating the need for that to them. Good feedback, but again, a private response might have been nice on that accord.
I have made lots of changes from renter suggestion and even changed the cleaning service based on that. The last two groups before you were very happy and what suggestion they gave me (privately) were acted upon, including the new fire pit.
The $150 cleaning fee is not excessive- I pay the actual cleaners more...its not cheap to get a service up there. You rented an entire house for $450,. Hotels rooms are a lot easier to dust and get out cobwebs, I suppose. It is a roomy large house with a newly updated kitchen, great decks and gazebo over a brook.
Thank you for the feedback, but for people reading our reviews, please read on, as there as many people who are satified with their stay, and who we like welcome back every year, or every season.
