Irina has a beautiful place useful for a nice home base right in the heart of the Marais. It is just down the street a block or so away from the Picasso museum, and is accessible by about a 5 minute walk from two metro stations... St. Paul and Chemin Vert I believe. There are also lots of trendy shops nearby, as well as hip restaurants. To get in her place, there is a front door code you put in, and then you are in a private little courtyard only accessible by the residents of the 3 story building. The building also houses two little restaurants you can see into from her front door. The apartment is right on the ground floor from this courtyard, and has wooden shutter locking windows. Upon entering, you find a cute, local feeling apartment that obviously feels lived in, with a decent amount of space for Paris, decorated with an eye towards fashion. The bed is a pull-out couch, which works well for the space. There was a nice french press coffee maker, and I felt like the two of us were able to feel like we had a good solid base from which to explore the city of paris as well as feel a bit like a local. The wireless internet worked great.
Irina was very pleasant to deal with, and was a great host. Her friend met us, and gave us the key. She was responsive and communicated well. Thanks for the opportunity to live like Parisians for a week!!!
