Bolara 60 is a traditional stone house (about 250 years old and now beautifully restored) near the medieval hilltop town of Grožnjan. The kuća is a guesthouse with 4 guest rooms. Next door is a self-contained apartment with its own kitchen and terrace (see "kućica" listing), and a farm where our neighbours make olive oil and wine, but otherwise there are no houses around. It's very green and peaceful here, with views into the forest and Mirna valley, and deer, birds and butterflies all around.
Bolara is a short drive or a scenic walk from Grožnjan (with its famous summer jazz festival), and close to Motovun.
The kuća has two covered terraces with tables where we serve breakfast, and a courtyard with a pizza oven and grill where we eat in the evening - just let us know if you'd like to join us! It faces on to the garden, the forest and our neighbours' farm, and you can wander wherever you like.

We live in the guesthouse too, so we'll be around to help you if you need, give recommendations on where to go or eat, and so on. We'll give you breakfast in the morning, and can provide dinner too on request - Anna is a professionally trained chef and cooking teacher.
We don't allow smoking.
I'm a university lecturer in Computer Science (search for "Matthew Purver" to find me). Married to Anna, cooking teacher and writer (search for "Culinary Anthropologist").
