Best of all worlds! Cozy, yet roomy and amenity-filled "rustic-luxe" retreat on the edge of pristine wilderness. You hear only the rhythm of river rapids, yet you can walk to restaurants, seasonal entertainment and general store. With unobstructed river views from all rooms except baths, this 10-year old cabin is set back from the river, so it's filled with sunlight not dampness. As one of several cabins around a common area, it's private, not isolated. Ready for both relaxing and adventuring!
The cabin is not set up for children nor is it child-proofed. If your family includes a well-supervised small child, please inquire for details before your reservation.
No extra guests without express advance written permission. We will consider one extra guest only, and an additional fee applies.
Please see the information notebook in the cabin when you arrive for detailed instructions on house rules, as well how to take advantage of all the amenities in the cabin and the community.
Quiet time after 10 pm
We met in Maine, but have lived in Eugene, Oregon since 1998. We have five grown children between us and two grandchildren (so far). John is already retired, but Kathi is still working, as a consultant with Oregon nonprofits. Kathi is a vegetarian, but John is not. We still get along!
We love to travel: some of our individual and shared favorite places have been Vietnam (our most recent trip), Kauai, Vancouver Island and Newfoundland in Canada, Yunnan Province in China, Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Lisbon, St, Vincent, Salta in Argentina, Botswana and New Zealand. We also have traveled extensively in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy its incredible diversity.
