When searching for a place to stay, everyone has their own little set of checklists that must be adhered too; close to restaurants, close to transport, etc. Along with that and also being a first time user of AirBnB, I was also a little scared of the unknowns, the scenario of arriving to Manila and actually finding this apartment didn't exist.
I can assure you 100% (if my words mean anything to you) that this apartment is real and genuine. My first experience with AirBnB has been a great one.
From the very instant there was a continual stream of communication between myself and Philip (owner) and in his absence Ann would message (which I can assume is his partner).
Upon entry to the apartment and after a long 8 hour flight from Sydney Australia, I just wanted everything to be right. It was. The wifi worked, the fridge was supplied with bottled water, the towels and linen were fresh and smelt very nice (I must get the name of that fabric softener).
I honestly could not fault the apartment at all. And it is everything that it is said to be. I think the only issue I had was realising I had to turn on the hot water fuse in the fuse box after day 2 haha - but even with cold water shower I still couldn't complain - and yes the hot water it super hot and works perfectly.
The view is beautiful, overlooking Makati City which by taxi will take around 15 minutes (much much longer in traffic). Getting to and from the apartment is fine as the apartment is located on a very well known boulevard that is continually frequented by cabs (just remember no flat rates, always say meter plus tip),
Some landmarks close by included SM Megamall, Greenbelt was about 15 minutes away, BGC's High Street Mall is about 20-25 minutes away, MOA would be around 20-30 minutes by cab. And your fares in the cab are between 60 peso to 400 peso.
Philip and Ann also assisted to organise a collection from the Ninoy Aquino airport on my arrival. This helped immensely and the driver and vehicle were immaculately presented.
The apartment was modern, and beautiful. I was worried that maybe I would break the bed being a larger guy, but it was so comfortable, the air con was cold, hot water was hot, and honestly although the tv was a little small and reception not that good, I honestly didn't even have time to sit and watch that with all of Manila waiting outside for me.
It's true .... you really do have more fun in the Philippines.... and when you have hosts/owners such as Philip, then you have much more time for fun and less worries.
I will surely stay there again and I had a wonderful, even though short 5 night stay.
