Our countryside retreat, a double room especially for our guests with a private bathroom, own sitting room and free available parking.
Set in a lovely seaside village, nine miles south of historic Aberystwyth, surrounded by the Cambrian Mountains near the Ceredigion Coastal Path, which is part of the beautiful Wales Coast Pathway. The picturesque harbour town of Aberaeron town lies seven miles south from our home and both towns are easily reached by car or the local bus services.
Near Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, set in the village of Llanrhystud and surrounded by the countryside and coast, our home is a modern bungalow with an attractive landscaped garden.
It features a luxury private bathroom with whirlpool bath and overhead shower, which exclusively serves our guest room, located directly opposite via a small hallway. Fresh towels, and toiletries are included for guests.
The cosy guest room has a comfortable double bed, with quality linens, pillows and king sized duvet surrounded by two bedside, furnished with lamps. The room contains a triple wardrobe, with single wardrobe space free to hang your clothes, and also plenty of available drawer space, power points and heating. Equipment provided within the room includes a kettle, tea/coffee refreshments, a hairdryer and a first aid kit. Our guest room also has a lockable door, with key provision.
Microwave, fridge space, crockery, and cutlery are available for guests to use in the kitchen. A continental breakfast to include delicious butter croissants or similar will be provided only on the first morning.
Laundry items and ironing facilities for guest use is available upon request.
We are very flexible on check in and out. It does depend on our other commitments but if you have particular requirements please check before booking.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to us having a large netted garden pond our home is ‘not child-friendly’.
Guests access our bungalow via the front door – a key is provided.
Guests have access to a separate comfortable living/dining area with a 32” LG LED TV with Freeview channels and also full access to the kitchen space. These are adjacent to the host family lounge area.

We are usually around to help in any way you wish, and accommodate you where practical. However, we do work full time and so our time is more limited during the week than at weekends.
We love the social side of having guests but completely respect your privacy. We are not intrusive but we are open to making new friends.
We can help with information on touring the area and the ‘must see’ destinations.
We do our best to make every stay with us memorable and welcoming.
As well as usual travellers for vacations, our property would be ideal for the mid-week business traveller or someone working at one of the many enterprises in our area, including Aberystwyth University’s expanding new estate - the Aberystwyth Innovation & Enterprise Campus.
We are perfectly located for guests wanting to travel along the coast of Mid Wales, through from Pembrokeshire to Ceredigion’s Aberaeron, Aberystwyth, Borth and Ynyslas. Also ideal for guests wishing to break journeys to the A44 road route to Mid and North Wales, as our property is in a quiet cul-de-sac, set back from the A487 which links Aberystwyth to the A44.
Our broadband is good however we are promised superfast fibre optic broadband connection by the end of the year. Broadband with Wi-Fi is available in the house and garden, and we have 4G EE mobile signal in the area.
A point to mention is us having two young cats, who you will most certainly meet. The property would be unsuitable if you do not like cats!
- Our quiet times are between 9pm – 8am. We ask for you to return to the house quietly after 9pm
- Maximum of 2 people. Guests are not at liberty to bring or invite others that are not noted in the booking arrangements, into our home
- The bungalow is carpeted, so we respectively request that outdoor shoes are left in the hallway by the front door
- We request no eating in the bedroom as we have a dining room that you can use anytime
- We do not smoke but you have the whole of Wales at your disposal! As with all shared spaces we have a no smoking rule for our house and property, therefore we request strictly no-smoking, or vaping
- ‘Not child friendly’ – refers to a large netted garden pond
- We are very flexible on check in and out but this needs to fit in with any commitments we may have; therefore, please check at the time of booking
- We would also ask that our guests keep us well informed, particularly about the time of arrival (to ensure one of us is here to meet you)
I’m happily married living in a small rural coastal village near Aberystwyth. My husband, Alex, and I work locally in Aberystwyth.
We have become hosts on Airbnb and have a cosy home with one guest room and private bathroom, in a pretty rural village called Llanrhystud, which is located on the coast of Mid Wales and nestled between the beautiful harbour town of Aberaeron and historic Aberystwyth.
We’ve travelled to many countries, including America, Europe & the Caribbean. We also enjoy weekend breaks, visiting quiet B&B’s, and hope to find that being a host on Airbnb will bring a little part of the world to our door.
We have designed and created all of the features in our home, including comfortable beds, bringing fond mementoes home from our many travels.
We have three children, all late twenties / early thirties living in the UK.
We have two cats who are quiet but quite active, being so young. Both Holly Bear and Rocco are free to roam the house but not permitted in our guest room or bathroom. Both are very affectionate, and not aggressive in any way and love to play and explore the great our doors.
We also have a pond and an indoor aquarium with tropical fish.
We like to visit gardening, and cat shows, go to the theatre, movies, concerts and comedy shows and also enjoy a nice meal out.
If you enjoy a comfortable and private stay but also like socialising and open spaces, you’ll feel right at home here.
We are quite relaxed hosts and we will do our best to give a warm welcome to all our guests.
