Sandi, the owner of the Childress House, will provide fresh coffee and share any fresh baked cookies. She is also happy to launder clothing and, of course, share the fascinating history of the house with you.
Built in 1847, the Childress House is on the National Register of Historic Places. Its thick, plaster walls ensure privacy while its wrought iron fence ensures security. The enclosed grounds include a beautiful garden, a charming veranda, an extant root cellar, and an original stable.
No pets are allowed in the parlor. Please make sure to wash your own dishes before checking out if you use your kitchen. The walls are very thick plaster, so noise is seldom an issue, but please keep music down after 10:00 p.m.

I teach history at the college level and write for a Nashville-based magazine. I also compete in trail races around the South. And I don't wear glasses, by the way. That's a nerd tattoo. Librarians find it unspeakably hot. (Librarians may stay at the house for 10% off.)
