I LOVED staying with Livia and Hamish. The couple are exemplary hosts. Their home was immaculate, light, minimalist yet lived in. On one hand, I felt completely at home, on the other, as if I was staying at spa retreat.
My room was larger with lots of light, a big window, a large comfy bed with crisp white sheets, pillows and blankets. I was able to sleep a solid 26 hours, recovering from 6 weeks of backpacking around Europe. Mainly, it wasn't easy to leave the amazingly heavenly bed! The bathroom boosts a standup shower, a bathtub, double sinks, a large window, AND a washing machine. Still leave ample space to move about. The Privacy of the room made me feel like it was my own studio, yet Livia and Hamish, welcomed me into the rest of their home. Fed me, I felt more like a visiting family member than a guest.
The neighborhood is central, trendy and beautiful, renovated buildings, quiet with cafes and restaurants, shops, new nightclubs, museums close public transportations. It's also very easy to catch a taxi or just walk about.
Livia and Hamish really take pride in hosting, they enjoy it, and they are really REALLY good at it. Thank you for making me love this city even more, for the best cheap beer ever, artisanal pizza dinner, conversations, artist residency info and the good vibes. Thank you again for allowing me to stay an night extra (without pay) in order to catch my early flight. Whenever I'm in Berlin again, I hope your place is available, I have no interest in staying anywhere else and you always have a home in NYC!
