The cabin is predominantly heated by the wood stove. The cabin does have electric heat and heated slate floors in the kitchen, bathroom, and entry way but without the wood stove they are not sufficient to heat the entire home in winter. If you do not want to built a fire, this is not the home for you. All wood is supplied.
The stair case to the loft is steep and narrow and not recommended for small children and elderly.
The swimming pool is a community pool that is seasonal. The pool is open from Memorial weekend to Labor Day weekend and is accessible with the membership card located in the cabin.
The pool is seasonal and only open from Memorial Day - Labor Day of each year.
I am a Army veteran, who was born and raised in the Northwest. My husband John and I bought Hoodland Hideaway 15 years ago to expose our children to all the beauty and adventure Mt. Hood has to offer. We spend many a winter day skiing and snow shoeing in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Summers are spent lounging by the pool or playing by the river in the Timberline Rim. Our children have now grown into young adults and are spending less and less time at our hideaway so we thought we would share our little retreat with the world.
