Well equipped quaint cottage in a quiet rural hamlet 5 minutes from the local lake with beach. It has been nicely renovated whilst maintaining its charm. There are wooden floors & exposed beams as well as mousti-nets. The garden is great for lounging about in as well as for eating under the stars. This is our holiday home which we have owned since 2003 & now that my husband is retired we would like to share our quirky little house for a few weeks a year to cover the costs of keeping it
The hamlet is inside the Perigord-Limousin Regional Park which offers beautiful countryside for walkers and cyclists. We are about 35 minutes’ drive from J28 of the A20 and about 25 minutes’ drive from Limoges-Bellegarde airport, served by Ryanair and others.
The kitchen is well equipped and includes a cooker (gas hob and electric oven), fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, combi-microwave and a dishwasher.
WiFi is available in the house and (most of) the garden, though the bandwidth is not as much as in cities. There is a small compact hifi system with speakers in the kitchen and salon. You can play music through this from your phone or tablet using Bluetooth. It includes a radio and also plays CD’s and cassettes!
There are two UK sockets on the vanity unit in the main bedroom – all the other sockets are of French style. The main bed is a UK king size (W 152cm x L 202cm or 5ft x 6'8") and the second bedroom houses twin beds (W 90cm x L 190cm or 3ft x 6'3").
All the windows have 'mousti-nets' - spring loaded fine mesh roller blinds to keep out little buzzy things whilst retaining the view through the window. There is also a screen door on the front door.
In the house there is a steep wooden staircase which may not be suitable for very young children or the infirm (see photos).
Garden tables and chairs, sun-loungers and a BBQ can be found in the shed.
Guests would have access to all facilities in the house with the exception of the cellar (where we keep the troll!) and loft which will be locked. There will also be access to the garden (hard landscaped) and the stone shed in the garden where we keep garden furniture, BBQ, etc. Guests will not have access to the bikes which will be locked nor the shed loft.

We will either be touring France with our little caravan (Jeremy) or back in the UK but we will be contactable via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), phone and/or email. There will be someone to handover and collect the key.
If you want an older, character property in a peaceful location, this is the place for you. There is no television but there are WiFi, books, maps and games available for use. The stairs are steep, wooden, uncarpeted with a low beam on the bend so care needs to be taken. There isn’t a way to fix a stair gate at the top.
Please do not hesitate to contact the host should you have any questions.
- We have neighbours so we ask you to respect their need for sleep, especially with late evenings spent in the garden.
- WiFi must not to be used for video streaming or large downloads as this is a condition of the internet provider. More details on request.
I am a woman of a 'certain age' married to Mike since 2015 though we had been together for 15 years before that. Mike is retired and I'm currently not working having previously worked in various admin roles in both the private and public sector. We love our little caravan (named Jeremy) but also love the occasional night away without dragging Jeremy behind us. I can't live without my sewing machine or knitting needles, real coffee, dark chocolate, the radio, my husband, my son Toby and my friends - the order being dependant on the mood!
