A neat guest room and study in tranquil Karen with toilet and shower ensuite. Perfect for travellers aiming to work, study or simply enjoy the sights around Nairobi. Wi-fi, garden and kitchen access included. We are conveniently placed between Karen Crossroads and the Southern Bypass, which allows you quick and easy daily access to Nairobi Central, while living in the middle most of Nairobi's most famous neighbourhood.
We have additional rooms available for larger groups.
The house is a beautiful refurnished coffee farm house from back when Karen was just that - a coffee production area. In the years since then one of Nairobi's most beautiful and interesting suburbs has sprung up around it, and our house is a unique reminder of the times that used to be - comfortably placed in the centre of Karen with easy access to Crossroads, the Hub, the new African Shopping Mall, Nairobi Central and all of Nairobi's most visited tourist sites (all of which happens to be in Karen).
We have a lovely private garden, where you can rest and restore your energy from visits around Nairobi or long work days. The house is located within a larger community compound with good security and a friendly and welcoming neighborhood.
The room is ideal for students or travellers opting for a longer stay with a reasonable rent but still having your own privacy. The room has an elevated double bed with a seating arrangement and small work table underneath. If the place is rented for one month or longer, the small table can be replaced by a proper study desk on request.
You have access to our lovely private garden and terasse through your own door in the guest part of the house. Our spacious kitchen is also available if you prefer to do your own cooking.

I'm a former Army officer turned academic. I travel a lot and when I travel with my wife, we like to rent out our home.
We spend most days in our lovely house in Karen, Nairobi, where we rent out a few rooms to fellow travellers, but also regularly sublet our apartment back in Copenhagen. My wife and I both enjoy the occasional sharing of great travel stories over drinks in our cozy garden - but we also allow you to have full privacy in our home when you rent a room.
Our house is pet and family friendly and ideally placed for enjoying the hustle and bustle of central Nairobi in the day time, and relaxing in a green garden with chirping birds in the evening.
