The only obstructed views here are from paddleboarders, fishermen collecting their daily catch, and a wide variety of waterfowl which fill our inlet, including our neighborhood bald eagle, who on most days graces us with his presence perched on our shoreline. While we offer this unique glimpse of Murrells Inlet as it was years ago, we are also conveniently located within walking distance or a short bike ride from Murrells Inlet Marshwalk. Here you can stroll along the wooden boardwalk, while dinning in one of the dozens of creek front restaurants, or unwinding at sunset while listening to local bands and taking in the laid back lifestyle that this area is famed for. The surrounding areas are filled with activities and experiences for all vacationers. Here you can spend your day in tranquility while embraced in the inlet as it was hundreds of years ago and then spend your night marveling at what has become. We are able to provide a once in a lifetime experience to our guests by offering the opportunity to stay in the house of one of the founding families of Murrells Inlet. Clearance Morse in the 1950s' opened the first oyster roast restaurant in Murrells Inlet a short distance away, in what is now known as Morse Park Landing. The house has been maintained and restored, keeping its original design and feel. We are proud to be able to provide our guests the ability to enjoy the seafood capital of South Carolina, while staying under the same roof as one the people that started it all. At its heart Murrells Inlet remains a laid back fishing village and this is uniquely personified by Huntington View Inn. The authentic setting of our house allows for our guests to gaze out at the beautiful inlet, while imagining times long ago when the water was filled with fishing boats, pirates, and steamboats. As the years pass by, the area around us has grown and become a busy place, but here time seems to be frozen. The land remains the same, our sandy banks unchanged, and inlet views unwavering.
Captain's Quarters, is a nautically decorated room fit for any fisherman. Original artwork embellish the walls, giving the room a truly seafaring atmosphere. Two queen size beds, with sheets and extra pillows are provided. Ample closet space and a dresser will provide the space for all of your maritime needs. The room shares a private bathroom with the Pelican's Perch and is complete with a full bath, towels are provided. WiFi is provided as well as USB ports.
Upon your arrival to Huntington View Inn, you will walk up a flight of stairs onto a deck, which has a separate guest entrance. The deck has a variety of places to sit and relax and is a lovely place for a happy hour snack and beverage.
A family room is accessible to our guests, complete with a television and an array of board games. Ample seating is available, making it a perfect spot for a rainy day movie or a relaxing evening playing games. Feel free to peruse our book collection, which features an array of titles, including history, legend, and folklore from the area. The family room is decorated with local artwork, antique furniture, and has remained largely untouched from its original design, giving the room and warm and comfy atmosphere.
A spacious kitchen is available for our guests. The view from the kitchen overlooks the inlet, making it a fitting location to prepare a picnic for a bike ride to Huntington Beach State Park or to enjoy a complimentary cup or pot of Keurig coffee. In the evening it is a perfect setting to prepare a cheese platter and enjoy a glass of wine. A microwave and refrigerator are at your disposal. Our cabinets are fully stocked with an array of glassware for cocktails and other beverages. Additionally, plates, silverware, and other items are on hand. While we do not offer access to our stove, a grill is available through our Inlet Fun program which will provide the means to cook freshly caught seafood from our shores, or from our many fish markets within walking distance from the house. A large dinning table provides ample seating for our guests. Original artwork adorn the walls, which along with other unique relics, creates an intriguing background for your visit.
A screened in Carolina Room is available and provides the perfect place to enjoy the inlet. It is wonderful place to start your day. Here you can relax while enjoying a complimentary cup or pot of Keurig coffee while planning your day ahead. It has multiple seating options and is decorated with uniquely artistic furniture. From the Carolina Room an attached deck opens up to a stunning view of the inlet. Truly a superb place to watch both sunrises and sunsets while settling back and a taking in the radiant view as fishing boats and waterfowl gather in the inlet.
Huntington View Inn is situated in a perfect location to insure that any vacationer will find what they are looking for. As the seafood capital of South Carolina the area has dozens of seafood restaurants to choose from. Whether you are in the mood for a casual local spot or a fine dinning experience, you will have countless options. A short walk or bike ride away is the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, which consists of dozens of creek front restaurants offering an array of local favorites. Directly next door to the house is Graham's Landing, which is a favorite among the locals and is known for its local seafood fare.
While our area has an array of unique and interesting restaurants, for those wanting to experience first hand what makes this area so renowned for its seafood, deep sea fishing charters are available a short distance away. In addition, through our Inlet Fun program, sea fare can be caught steps away from your room. If the fish aren't biting, but you still want to explore your culinary talents on our grill, several award winning seafood markets are within walking distance from the house.
If you are interested in a night life scene, the restaurants at the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk have local bands nightly as well as happy hour specials. A memorable evening can be spent walking along the boardwalk while dropping in on the many spots along the way. Here you can sit back with a cocktail, overlooking the inlet, while local bands serenade the night.
If you are thinking of going to a show, the Carolina Opry is a great way to spend an evening with its nightly shows and special events which bring in famous entertainers from around the world. Bike trails are throughout the area, providing a perfect opportunity to grab a bike from Inlet Fun, pack up a picnic, and spend a unforgettable time exploring the trails and beach. Many lookouts, provide an ideal viewing spot to gaze out at the local waterfowl and other creatures, including alligators. Brookgreen Gardens is a short drive or bike ride away from the house. The widely expansive garden, is world renowned for it's meticulously decorated gardens, a zoo of local animals in their natural habitats, and its hundreds of outside sculptures from American artists. Be sure to check what special exhibits they have throughout the year as these are changing often.
Pawley's Island, one of the oldest summer resorts on the east coast, is 1.5 miles from the house. This laid back town is renowned for their relaxing beaches, boutique shops, and their world famous hammocks. It is a great place to spend a day exploring the expansive beach, sand dunes, and local shops.
If you have a golfer in your group, again this is a perfect spot for you. Within miles of the house are dozens of first rate golf courses. A short drive from the house is The Caledonia Golf and Fish Club, a world renowned course built on a former rice plantation site. This course annually ranks in the top hundred of greatest public courses in the United States by Golf Digest Magazine.
