Aaron thank you for the review but I respectfully disagree with your Cons here. I would request all future guests reading this to please look at other reviews and the "Additional Rules" section of this listing before making reservations, we had to call out all the specifics there as there is a word limit to the main listing section. It's reviews like this that disrupt the sanctity of the community and make it very hard for hosts who are fully dependent on Airbnb for a living.
Here are my responses to the Cons:
Please review the House section in the Additional Rules/Requirements section. Nowhere in our listing have we specified this is a new house. This is a 7000 Sqft house with 1900 Sqft of living area, 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms. I am not sure how much more big is really big. Aaron's room has a brand new Modani SF Kind Bed with Leather Head Rest, Brand New Ikea Desk & Chairs and Brand New Ikea Drawers with a Walkin Closet and a huge area for Shoes and Clothes, including hangers and brand new laundry bag. Sorry to disappoint you with these amenities.
The entire house was vacuumed, wiped and sanitized (you may take a look at the other reviews for this listing to evaluate cleanliness) before Aaron and his companion's arrival, all toilet areas/desks/cupboards/closets were cleaned as well prior to their arrival in-spite of a late checkout from our previous guest. Towels/linens were getting washed/dried but they arrived ahead of their schedule. I had just finished putting their towels thru several cycles in the dryer (2 sets of towels were provided for the 2 guests, all of which were washed, scented using downy unstoppable in-wash scent booster) and even asked them if they were ok with it or needed me to put it thru another cycle but was not provided any feedback. During their stay, everyday I asked them how their stay was going and if I could do anything to make it better or address any concerns, no feedback was provided. We provide laundry services to all guests and we always have extra towels available on request. But nothing of this sort was requested. The guests went all over the house, pool areas and garden areas after the quiet hours with their friend (not a guest on the reservation). It is unfair to say that quiet hours were not respected when you are not respecting it yourself. I do apologize however, if for some reason my voice was heard at 3 am. I do not recall watching a show (which I definitely don't at 3 am and I always use my Bose Quiet Comfort 35 noise cancelling headphones all the time. If I am at the house, I work out of the dining area which is 500 ft away from the 800sqft closed room) and laughing.
Aaron and his companion never requested for it, they were mostly at home during the evenings and the temperatures were 55 - 56F during that time and we kept fans running to take advantage of the cool weather at night. We close all outlets and vents during the day per PG&E's recommendation to prevent hot air from entering and open it all up during the night. We also have a personal A/C(See photos) that we can provide in addition to the central A/C if guests request the same.
Tooth Paste -
Please review the the Additional Rules/Requirements Section for details. We buy all toiletries in bulk and hence cannot change a large toothpaste or Large Shampoo/Conditioner/Bodywash for every new guest. However, on arrival I do mention this to all guests and even ask them if they need to be replaced or they need anything else. No feedback was provided during the tour of the house and the room. I remember specifically mentioning that we place brand new toothbrush for guests who forgot to bring one and that I can replace the toothpaste with a brand new one but no feedback or request was provided.
Host Sleeping On the Couch -
Please review the additional rules/requirements section "Does the host live here?". Aaron and his companion did not rent the whole house (which is not an option at our AirBnb) and rented only the Private Bed & Bath. We have two living rooms that are shared spaces, we even accommodate guests of our guests to crash on the couch in times of a last minute travel request or emergency. I usually work 24/7 but sometimes when I get tired, I do crash on the couch. When I do so, I take out all the cushions, place them on the lounge next to it use my own spread/comforter/pillows for the couple of hours that I do crash. I clean up after I wake up, put everything back where it belonged. We also clean all areas several times a week, we pride on the cleanliness of our AirBnb.
