My husband and I stayed at Joy's beautiful Gold Canyon home for 5 nights in November, 2017. The location was ideal, with spectacular views of the Superstition Mountains, adjacent to a championship golf course, and it was a convenient 10 minute drive to my mother's home in Apache Junction.
When we arrived, Joy reported she had recently had a dish network installed and was having problems with the WIFi. We were told a repairman was to be sent on day 2. However, no one ever came. I emailed Joy about the ongoing problem on day 2 and day 3, then gave up. She never stopped by or inquired if the problem was resolved. We had no television or WiFi for our entire stay.
The other problem with this rental was that Joy's home was not a place where we felt comfortable to make and eat a simple meal. When we arrived, Joy told us she was preparing for a big event to be held in her home the upcoming week. Every glass table (even the breakfast nook) was set up with elegant stemware and candlesticks. The one place where we felt comfortable to sit down with our morning coffee was on the patio overlooking the golf course. Fortunately, the weather was perfect!
If you are looking for a beautiful, clean place to sleep and maybe have a drink outdoors (but dine elsewhere), this might be ideal for you. For us, it just wasn't a good fit!
