This merchant's home was built in 1900 by Uncle Jimmy White and has had little change except for plumbing and heating. The house has 3 guest rooms and is furnished in pre-confederation pieces. As there are no restaurants on the island the host provides meals by request but a full hot breakfast is included. There are great hiking trails and a map is provided most have board walks and the view from Pole Hill is spectacular. Make sure you bring a camera. The locals are friendly and warm a greet guests happily always giving an update on the weather and their life on the island.
The house has a large lounge and guests are welcome to relax and to take in the small yet quaint museum items. Often a local will take a group out in boat if asked. The ferry can provide a great viewing of icebergs and whales in season.

There are hiking maps in the rooms as well as historical books for guest to enjoy and the lounge also has information available to the guests. I interact with my guests and if a kitchen party should start up they are all welcome to attend.
Please bring alcohol or cigarettes with you as there are no stores on the island. Call or email ahead for availability or reservations.
