Ditch your car. Walk to Winthrop's Main Street and grab coffee at the bakery and see the town. Hike or mountain bike the area's incredible trails, or float the Methow river. In Winter, ski North America's top Nordic trail system; the main trailhead is at your doorstep. Enjoy dinner, local beer/wine/cider, craft cocktails, and live music--all down the street. Finish the evening with a campfire and stargazing under North America's darkest sky. Repeat!
We bought this classic 1949 farmhouse and completely remodeled it from the foundation up. We raised the ceilings in the downstairs, put in huge windows, and added an upstairs unit. We put in reclaimed hardwood floors, a gas fireplace, and fir trim. The house is clean, light, and bright, and very spacious. The beautiful front porch is the highlight of this home.
You have full, exclusive use of the private downstairs apartment and front and back porches. The yard and back patio is shared with our friends, Steve and Deneen, who live and garden at the property.

I have worked in Antarctica in support of the US scientific effort seasonally for 10 years, traveling extensively and exploring the earth during the other half of these years. After walking here from Mexico along the Pacific Crest Trail, I am planting roots in Washington with my talented and eccentric partner. We have found a loving home and community in the Methow Valley and are enjoying our garden and these majestic mountains, in a unique part of my journey in life. I draw from an education from the places I have visited and from the wonderful people these travels have brought into my life.
My dearest value is respect for the planet, and having a positive attitude is LIFE!
