Welcome to the Cottage at the Red Barn! This ~216 square foot cottage is set on a scenic 5-acre property located in the farmlands of Oregon's central valley. Enter the detached cottage through your own private door to find a memory foam-covered queen bed, your own closet and private bathroom with hot shower, a small refrigerator, hot water kettle and basic tea/coffee-making facilities. This updated cottage is perfect for those who want a peaceful, countryside retreat with modern amenities.
We welcome you to our rural retreat, surrounded by local wineries and farmland. This historic property was settled by the Williams family in the 1800s, and a WWII-era home and restored barn grace the property along with a greenhouse, extensive garden, fruit trees and hazelnut orchard.
Guests have their own updated private cottage detached from the main home, though we welcome you to share the deck and stroll around the yard and garden (though please check with us before harvesting). There are gravel parking spaces for your vehicle just outside the cottage, and we are happy to give you a quick tour of the barn should you be interested!

As your hosts, we live in the main house, which is detached from the cottage but shares a yard and deck. Though we may or may not be present on the property during the entirety of your stay, we are happy to answer any questions you have via text and will do our best to accommodate requests as they arise. You may see us on the property, tending to the garden and grounds, and will likely encounter the resident dog (a boxer who loves all living creatures, large and small). We love to chat with fellow travelers, and are happy to provide local recommendations!
- Please maintain a respectfully quiet volume between 11 pm and 7 am.
- As we live in an older home surrounded by frequently dry grass fields, we ask that guests refrain from smoking or the use of any open flames anywhere on the property.
- While we are happy to share the produce the yard provides, please ask us before picking anything from the orchard or garden.
- Kindly do not enter the barn unless accompanied by one of your hosts.
Hi! I'm a 28-year-old from California who graduated with an MPhil in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge. I moved back to the US to continue on to a PhD in Forest Ecosystems and Society at Oregon State University's College of Forestry, though my field work is in Oaxaca, Mexico.
I'm clean and quiet, and I love pets, people, art and history... and traveling, of course!
