Nava Oorda, literally meaning "the new room", is the latest addition to the 100+ year old haveli. The old haveli room has been renovated using natural air and light principles. Though it is slightly modern in terms of interiors, as compared to the other rooms, it maintains the heritage ethos of the place. There are two rooms in this suite, each equipped with a single bed. Ideal for a solo traveller or friends travelling together.
The homestay is a century old heritage haveli and far from the madding crowd in a quaint village of Kutch.
The Darbargadh (small fort) was built in 1905 by Thakore Shri Verisalji Bawasaheb of Roha which is the biggest principality of Kutch having 52 villages. The Darbargadh stands in 2 acres of grounds and there are private quarters in which four rooms have been opened to
invite guests to experience true Kutchi hospitality. In addition to the central dining area each suite has a private dining area for those wishing a little more privacy. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed and retain the heritage and culture of the last century whilst also amalgamating the necessities of the modern times.
Built of local sandstone in the classically ornamental Roha (Kutch) style, it consists of portico, courtyards, stucco pavilions and pillared halls. The Darbargadh is now also listed as a member of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage due to its historical and architectural importance. Since 1994 a CBSE English medium school is being run by the family in the same campus.
