Stairs down to the flat are really steep, hard to get down with a huge luggage. There are about 4-5 rooms down in the basement, and you will be staying in one of those rooms. Facility was OK, the flat has everything you need for a short stay, except for a washing machine. It was outside the room, in the corridor, but for some reason it was full of the same wet clothes during our whole stay, and we weren't able to use it.
Inside the flat, we found a strange eerie patio, which was only halfway constructed. There were pieces of cement and dirt everywhere, a big vase with a dead plant in it, and had a gigantic hole in the ceiling. The worst thing was: rain dripped through that hole every time it rained outside...
We contacted Ali about this, but he simply informed us to lock it or use it if we wanted, even though it was in no condition to use.
And about the flat itself:
PROS- the beds were quite cozy and soft, good water pressure, and hot water comes out well.
The flat had a great location too, close to Queensway and Bayswater tube station, a bus stop that can take you to many places in London, and Hyde Park right in front of us. Bayswater area is quiet enough to stay for your holidays.
CONS- The wooden floor was kinda dirty, and we had problems with the private patio of course. It made me feel nervous all day long.
Since the flat is down at the base floor with no windows, it's a little damp and cold inside, especially during the night. The bathroom has ventilation systems, though.
And the worst thing was, we found 4 gigantic spiders on the ceiling when we arrived, which seemed to have stayed there for a long time considering its webs;; This was a huge problem for us because we HATED spiders. My friend couldn't get to sleep on the first day, since two of the spiders were right above our beds. Eventually, we had to spend our whole evening next day killing the spiders and cleaning up the mess. That was a NIGHTMARE.
We had fairly good communications with Ali, he was quick enough to respond to our messages. However, I was a little disappointed when he never came to see us, even though we payed nearly 500 euros for our 6 nights stay. It would have been better if he visited us to check if there were any problems.
Overall, I would say that the flat is fairly average, great for those who have low budgets, but not for those who care much in cleanliness.
