Clean linens/towel provided. Just bring a suitcase with your clothes and you're all set! Close to subway (D/N/R lines) and is about 35 minutes to lower Manhattan. Full use of shared kitchen, living room and bathroom.
Neighborhood: Quiet & safe; close to a large park. Many cheap dining options nearby and a handful of bars. Easy commute to nightlife in Manhattan, Park Slope and Bay Ridge.
Guests have full use of kitchen which includes the typical: stove/oven, pots, pans, utensils, spices and condiments, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, etc. Welcome to help yourself to coffee, tea and condiments/spices but please purchase your own food.
I change linens/towels before each guest but if you're staying for more than a week and would like a "refresh" during your stay, just let me know and I'll include in my regular trip to the laundromat.
The listing is a private room in a 3 bedroom apartment. I live in one of the rooms and depending on your reservation dates, there may be a 3rd roommate in the other so please keep in mind that while your room is private, kitchen, living room and common areas are shared access.
Shared WiFi included.
Full access to shared spaces: kitchen, living room and bathroom.
This is a walk-up apartment with no elevator (32 small steps) so may be challenging for guests with serious mobility issues - my mother visited 8 weeks after double hip replacement surgery and managed fine but the space isn't suitable for someone utilizing a wheelchair.
Please keep in mind that this is a residential apartment building and not a hostel/hotel. Neighbors are friendly but also enjoy their privacy. I am happy to share my home with you but please be respectful of that dynamic and limit interactions with other residents in the building.
The upstairs neighbors are awesome/very friendly but have a few young kids who run around when getting ready for school in the morning. If you plan on absolute quiet during AM, you may hear footsteps upstairs but otherwise very quiet. It is a residential apartment building! Welcome to NYC!
Other/Booking: Please have a verified government ID on record with Airbnb and/or be prepared to show upon arrival. Nothing personal but I ask that for safety of everyone - you, myself, neighbors, etc.
- No pets
- No drug use
- No criminal activity....if you are using drugs you're out immediately. I'll call a help center but that will not happen in my home. No questions asked.
- No additional guests without discussing first (additional fee applies)
- Please be respectful of our neighbors and limit noise after 12AM/midnight (arriving late is fine but keep in mind some neighbors have young kids so no loud music, etc after that time)
- Lost keys/lock-out fee is $35
I live in one of the rooms so am in and out but am always available on cell if any issues if I am not around. Any gender, religion, etc welcome. LGBTQ+ friendly. In short, just be a decent person and we'll get along just fine!
Our interaction is totally up to you depending on what brings you here. I am friendly and outgoing, love meeting new people but respect your privacy. I've lived in this city for years and have my own social life, etc. so we can limit interaction simply to me handing you key and if there are any issues or, if my schedule permits during your stay, we can grab a drink at a nearby bar and I'm happy to provide recommendations to attractions, show you around neighborhood and how to get around the city, etc.
I've lived in NYC on and off for the last 17 years and love this city!
I love traveling and have been to Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan and Australia, as well as throughout the US. Still have yet to visit many other places but love meeting people from different backgrounds. Although my current schedule does not allow for much international travel, my appreciation for other backgrounds and becoming friends with strangers attracted me to Airbnb.
Hosting people from different places is the next best thing to traveling!
