This 19th-century riad('house-garden' in Arabic) is a calm, refreshing and soothing oasis tucked away quietly in the middle of the magical chaos of the Marrakesh Medina! Riad Zelda has been owned and operated by my associate and myself for over 16 years now. The riad is lovely, with a heated pool and large jacuzzi on the terraces overlooking the entire Medina(historic city center) and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains
The riad was once a wealthy merchant's house. There are many vestiges left from the early 19th century, like the cuppolas and frescoes in the grand suite La Douiria(70 square metres)...the original reception rooms of the grand demeure. As well as the 2 garden-courtyards which are so refreshing after a warm day shopping in the souks or visiting the great nearby museums.
We want our guests to feel right at home. Breakfast is served on the terrace whenever you wish. No limits. And we provide free mint tea, coffee and orange juice and Moroccan pastries throughout your stay.

My associate, Michael, is a veritable fountain of great advice on everything from museums, expo's, restaurants, bars and excursions outside of Marrakesh. He and Jamal, the director, are very friendly and helpful.
Small heated pool in the shade of the Royal palm and lemon trees and 6-person jacuzzi on the terrace.

Hello everybody! I was an exchange student to Britanny in France when I was 16, and never came back home to the states, having fallen in love. I spent 2 1/2 years at the American University in Paris, 1 year at l'Universite de Versailles, studied auctioneering at Sotheby's Paris, then graduated in French and political science at the College of Charleston in SC(USA). I worked in a famous French night club, Le Calao, for 9 years as manager, then bought and renovated this riad in Marrakech in 2001, one of the very first boutique hotels in the 'red city'. I adore Marrakech every day more, for its vibrance, colors, perfume, cuisine, and its amazing Bedouin hospitality. This desert magical city has now stolen my heart. It will do the same for you!
