Wow, I am shocked and very upset at this review. Our home is advertised as being exactly that, our home. It has our things in it, and we don't clear everything away for our guests.
We only offer it for two or three nights at a time when we are absent, so guests just live "out of their suitcases".
In this case we were away for a few weeks, and perhaps it was not aired out as much as usual, but a window opened and the ranch sliders open would have soon fixed that.
I apologise for not having coat hangers available, that would be useful and I will do that in future.
We do not have anything unclean in our wardrobes, but there are shoes, and I didn't expect guests would be using that space. I have a vacuum cleaner in the small bedroom that may have had a dusty odour from storage, and that is the only thing I can imagine they were referring to.
I am unsure as to what standard Xavier is used to, but our space was spotless, bathrooms and toilets, and kitchen, floors and everything was cleaned to a very high standard. Bed linen fresh and clean, along with towels etc. I work hard to make our place lovely, and I am insulted that this review would read as such.
I have no control over ants when I'm away, so I'm sorry you had to deal with them. they are an occasional nuisance, depending on the weather.
The main doors out to the deck work perfectly, I have no idea what Xavier is referring to. Perhaps he couldn't work out how to pull a small bar down to unlock.
The things under our bed are our personal items, as outlined in our listing. I made a point of making sure that people booking would understand they are not coming into an unoccupied hotel-style place.
My partner and I have used Air BnB around the world, so I have a clear understanding of what is and isn't acceptable for guests, so I honestly have no idea what he is referring to in terms of our home being dirty.
It is a lovely place and if he had not been looking for problems he would have enjoyed it as much as the other guests have.
I will not be offering any compensation, in fact I believe that his review is so terrible that I should be the one asking for that.
I should also mention that at the last minute Xavier asked if he could bring a third person, and I said yes, but stated that we only offer the place for 2. I didn't charge him anything extra for this.
I'm really sorry you found it so unappealing and unpleasant Xavier, but you have painted a distorted picture of our accommodation, and I respectfully disagree with your review.
