Rose Cottage, is a 200yr old Scottish, semi-detached cottage. The house has all the modern amenities, but keeps that sense of history with a cosy traditional interior. It is a perfect holiday home whether you want to relax in the comfort of the cottage and its garden, want to take lovely walks nearby or want to travel and explore the Black Isle and beyond. Children will love the beach. Rosemarkie itself is a picturesque village and Rose Cottage is within the oldest and prettiest part.
In a typical cottage style, a kitchen and lounge and a toilet is downstairs. Two bedrooms and bath/shower room is upstairs. It has oil fired central heating.

Fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, electric oven, combination microwave oven, toaster, electric kettle, washing machine etc. Tablecloth and dish towels. The sink is a little bit sad and in need of replacement - but it works! And a radio.
Comfortable and cosy with a flame effect stove. Vintage crockery and ornaments on display. Books, some very old, to be read. There is no TV signal, but there is a big library of DVDs in the wall cupboard, as well as board games.
Seating for four. Lovely place to sit in the mornings with the sun pouring in.
The front garden has ancient box hedges, roses that have been there forever and a garden seat.
The large back garden is a great place for children to play.
There is parking in the grounds for one car and easy parking for any other vehicles in the public car park immediately next door.
NB. There is no WIFI access. There is no TV signal. Mobile phone connectivity is erratic but you can walk 3 minutes away to the beach where mobile phone connectivity is better. This makes for a very peaceful break away - media detox!
The whole house is for your use, including the front garden and the back garden. The garden in front of the adjoining next door belongs to the neighbour. She parks her car just there, so it is important that the guest should park their car in the designated place (where the little VW Up is on the photo) so as not to impede her access.

My Mum I will be available over the phone & by email to answer any questions. Should there be an issue which can only be addressed in person, there is an individual in the village who can be called upon to assist.
The Cottage has been used by the family down the generations for work, living in, and a "get away" for roughly 200 years. Over recent years the Cottage has been a second (holiday) home for the family. It is time to share the enjoyment we have all had from the use of this highland cottage tucked away in a beautiful little corner of the Scottish east coast. Enjoy!
Although an individual will clean the cottage after your stay to bring it back to the standard you found it in, please wash used cups and plates and put them back to where you found them.
Only one car to be parked on the cottage grounds. Additional cars can be parked in the Fairy Glen car park which is back to back with the cottage garden.
Bath and hand towels are not to be used as beach towels.
The front garden gate must be kept closed at all times to protect the neighbours' dog (and children) from running on to the road.
There are lots of books in the Cottage, some of them very old. You are very welcome to read any of them, but please don't take any away.
