We picked this apartment because it is close to the station and has a washer. I had asked Sid if we could check in early, and he said sure no problem and to contact him when we arrived. I also sent him our train info, so he knew exactly when we'd be getting in, but by the time we met up at the apartment, the cleaning person was still there and while we were able to drop our bags off, we couldn't use the apartment until she left about an hour later. All of this was a minor inconvenience, but the major inconvenience/surprise was the washing machine. For everywhere I've stayed in the past, the host has actually been a host and has included detergent and instructions on how to use the machine. Not Sid. The description is not lying when it says he doesn't provide anything--we even had to buy our own toilet paper. We bought detergent and washed our clothes, but they still stank after they dried so we messaged Sid to ask how to use the washing machine. He told us that we bought bad detergent, but didn't suggest alternatives and didn't give instructions on how to use the machine. So we bought another type of detergent and our clothes still stank. We reached out to all of our Italian contacts and bought the detergent they recommended, and we also looked up the washing machine manual online. Even following all of these instructions, our clothes still stank. We ended up going to a DIY laundromat, which fixed the smell issue. We were very disappointed in Sid for not providing more help; also, the major perk of the apartment ended up being the biggest hassle! Also, the shower is still broken--the head doesn't attach properly so it just kind of flops around uselessly.
Because of this, I would not stay here again. If you are thinking of staying here because of the washing machine, do yourself a favor and just go to the laundromat. We definitely would have saved money and time if we had just stayed somewhere cheaper with no machine and gone to the laundromat instead.
Other factors that didn't impact my review above, but are good to know: on the plus side, it is very large--much larger than we needed, so if you need a big place, it should have room. If you were planning to cook at home, then there is a kitchen. Other negatives are that you need to carry around 6 keys (not kidding) and that you can use only a few appliances at a time or the power will go out, or so we were told (it never went out on us, but Sid stressed the importance of not using more than a few appliances at a time, so we were very cautious).
