Location: On Gothic road half way between Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte turn left on county road 811 (Washington Gulch). The Meridian Lake subdivision is located 1 ½ miles North on Washington Gulch road. This new listing is located toward the top of the subdivision and nestled neatly in a grove of aspen trees on the side of Snodgrass mountain. The owners nick-named this the “CB Treehouse”. World class national forest mountain bike trails are easily accessible in the summer while winters are great for snow shoeing and cross country skiing. The house is on the fence-line in the subdivision with national forest to the north, ranch land to the east with an unobstructed view of Mt. Crested Butte across a rolling meadow to the south.
Layout: The front entry opens to the mudroom where French doors lead to the foyer. The foyer opens to the three lower bedrooms, the lower bathroom and a sizable laundry. There is easy garage access from the laundry. One bay of the garage is open for parking and the other bay is perfect for skis, snowboards, mountain bikes and other recreational equipment. From the foyer, a stairway leads to the second floor where you are met with a wide-open floor plan including a gas fire place, large farmhouse dining table and a big comfortable down filled couch. The open plan provides a cozy spot for friends and family to share stories, play games, listen to music or kick back and watch a movie on the 58” Smart LED TV. The three large picture windows feature views of surrounding mountain peaks. A large granite island and countertops border the well-appointed kitchen which includes a gas range. A small alcove off the dining room provides access to the master bedroom on the left and a bathroom to the right. A small cozy master bedroom has a queen bed, 40-Inch Roku Smart TV, and walk-in closet. The travertine-tiled bath has a double vanity, spacious shower with a bench, rain head and handheld fixtures. A long rectangular window provides excellent morning light and private views of the aspen forest on Snodgrass mountain.
Summer: A large deck with a propane grill faces south and west, easily accessible from the kitchen is the perfect place to dine and enjoy the mountain views when the weather is nice. There is also a flagstone patio in front with a small yard and flower bed. Several mountain hiking trails are within walking distance and it’s always fun to hike to Meridian Lake on the ridge for fishing, swimming, or a picnic.
Winter: Although this is not on the bus line, it’s a short drive to either Mt. Crested Butte (2 miles) or Crested Butte (4 miles) and is accessible via town taxi service. The county plows roads in the subdivision and we have a private service that clears the driveway when there is more than 6 inches of accumulation. We recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle in the winter.
Internet: Take some extra time and use the house to work from the mountains! The house has surprisingly good cell phone reception via Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint and wireless internet connections are available from all areas of the house. The bedrooms, and dining room have wired Ethernet connections. The owners regularly work from home to get away for an extra day or two.
Entertainment: A Sonos music stereo system is easily linked to your smart phone or tablet and features speakers in the living room and ceiling speakers in both bathrooms. Four LED screen televisions provide streaming access to your favorite entertainment services as well as digital antenna reception to programming provided by the local Gunnison County Metropolitan District. An installation of DIRECTV is planned for late May 2017.

Check-Out: 10:00 a.m. on departure day. Guests wishing to depart later than 10:00 a.m. must receive confirmation from Alpine Getaways prior to departure, and will be charged a $50 late check out fee.
Services: Alpine Getaways will provide a clean home stocked with a starter kit of appropriate supplies. If supplies are depleted and need to be replaced the guest is responsible for replacement. There will be a cleaning fee payable by tenant (cleaning charges vary based on the property). All units are equipped with, or have access to, a washer and dryer for guest use. Additional cleaning services may be arranged during the stay for an additional fee by calling Alpine Getaways and scheduling a clean 48 hours in advance.
Travel Delay/ Cancellation: Weather conditions in Colorado can be extreme and change with little or no advance warning any time of the year. Guest understands and accepts this travel related risk and agrees that a refund cannot be given should a cancellation or delay be weather OR personally related. Alpine Getaways highly recommends that guest purchase travel insurance if this is a concern. We partner with Red Sky Travel Insurance to provide you this optional coverage.
