Moulin Rompu enjoys one of the most beautiful locations on the Gironde estuary. Surrounded by vines and sunflowers, it has an elevated position with panoramic views across the sea to the Medoc. The sunsets are amazing! The Cottage (built 2007) has character and charm and is well-equipped. French windows open on to the south facing terrace and secluded garden from which you can enjoy the views. The large heated pool is shared only with the English owners who live in the adjacent house.
Suitable for couples seeking a peaceful, relaxing holiday in an interesting area with some good restaurants. Whole weeks only in the main holiday season (May to September). Saturday to Friday nights inclusive.
If you search the internet, you will find many guest reviews of the cottage, all very good. Otherwise, contact us and we will tell you where to find them.
The accommodation is a self-contained 1-bedroom cottage attached to the owner's house. The pool is shared with the owner and is heated to 27 degrees C from June to September. There is a private garden, maintained by the owner.

Whatever you prefer. Mostly our guests prefer to be left alone to enjoy the beautiful environment, but we are very happy to provide information and recommendations if required.
The property is located along a small track, well away from the main road, which makes it very peaceful and secure, behind electronic gates. The walk along this track will take you down through fields of sunflowers, maize and vines, woodland and wild flowers towards the sea.
There is usually good mobile phone reception.

Married to Liz for 45 years, with 3 daughters. We are both retired and now have 7 grandchildren whom we adore. We are fortunate to have a house in the UK and another in France. We spend our summers in France where we built our house, Moulin Rompu, in 2007. There is a separate studio which we rent out during the holiday season - April to September.
I used to manage large software projects for a living and Liz was a geography teacher. We have hosted guests in France since 2000 and know the area around Mortagne pretty well.
