Incredibly charming, unique apartment, in the centre of Paris! 18th Century building, top floor, island of calm and romantism under the roofs. Wood beams, terracotta tiles, fireplaces, many windows, sunlight… Very Lively and convenient neighborhood !
Very charming and unique Paris apartment, in the Rue de Tracy in the 2nd arrondissement. In a 18th century building, at the top floor (5th floor), it's an island of calm and romantism under the roofs.
The apartment consists of:
- A large open kitchen, dining room with a big dining table for 6 and a fireplace. The dishwasher and washing-machine are perfectly integrated and hidden.
- A living room, with a sofa (transforms in a bed for 1), coffee-table, a wooden desk and another fireplace.
- One bedroom (with a queen-size bed for 2), separated from the living-room with a magnificent glass & metal wall. The bedroom window, facing West, delivers a beautiful view on the roofs of Paris and sunsets.
- A bathroom with little blue tiles, with a bathtub and toilet. The window, facing South, allows one to take a shower or bath in the sunlight! The bathroom is situated at the opposite of the bedroom, which is nice to keep a certain intimacy.
The apartment is a haven bathed with light with 8 windows, 5 of them facing South and 4 of them are roof windows (one can follow the sun's course, that ends in the bedroom!). The old and spacious staircase, and the landing flooded with daylight add to the incredible charm of this place.
The majestical wood beams, the old hexagonal terracotta floor tiles, the stones, the bricks and the 2 fireplaces (that both work perfectly) give one the feeling of being in the countryside rather than in the heart of a city! Being at the top floor is a luxury, one feels protected, sees the sky overhead, and easily imagines being in The Aristocats!
The lighting is subtle, and my grand piano makes the general atmosphere even classier.
The flights of stairs are easy to climb through, thanks to the small steps (I do it several times a week with my luggages without any problem).
The area is one of the most convenient of Paris, at the junction of several lively, beautiful neighborhoods, very different one another: on the East, the "Marais", chic and noble; on the West, the "Sentier", paved streets humming with life, "Étienne Marcel" and the very famous and trendy Rue Montorgueil; on the North, the "Grands Boulevards", full of theaters and wonderful shops, the "Porte Saint-Martin" and "République" a few steps away; on the South, "Châtelet" (the center of the Center of Paris!) the magnificent church Saint-Eustache, les Halles, and the Louvre!
All those places are only a few minutes away walking, no need to take the subway! To go further, the subway is very convenient, and only a few steps away: the stations "Réaumur-Sébastopol" (lines 3 and 4) and "Strasbourg-Saint-Denis" (lines 4, 8 and 9) take one anywhere in 10-15 minutes. There are also many buses and cabs that go along the Boulevard de Sébastopol. Personally, I use the "Vélib'", Paris' self-service bicycles!
A few meters away is a nice little garden, in front of the "Gaîté Lyrique", one of the trendyest Parisian contemporary cultural places for concerts, exhibitions etc.
The apartment is much bigger than a hotel room in Paris — there are large closets in the bedroom to put your things — a desk to work on, a large sofa that is also a very comfortable bed for one person (no need to open it or work through a complicated mecanism to turn it into a bed) — a very well-provided kitchen — a bedroom with a queen-size Simmons® bed for 2 (very comfortable and brand new) - a charming and convenient bathroom with a bathtub.
Heating is electric and there are 3 radiators, which provide a very soft and progressive temperature, which is adjusted in seconds.
The apartment was renovated with one goal: keep the old and noble materials, to preserve the charm of old with the comfort of new.
The whole place has a peaceful, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Very very cozy!
It's really an ideal place for short stays in Paris, alone or as a couple, both for holidays and for work. The area is great but it's also very pleasant to stay snugly in the apartment, where one feels like home!
Guests will have acces to everything that's there! I want my guests to enjoy my place as much as I do (which is a lot!)
Interakcija s gostima
I'll be available to interact with my guests as much as they need, by phone, email or on Airbnb. Whenever I'm abroad, a very nice and efficient friend of mine takes over ; even so, I remain reachable and I answer very quickly. I do my best to help as much as possible!
No smoking, No pets, No parties. Thank you!
There are no special house rules: just enjoy your stay here, respecting the place, the neighbours, and the things that are being left in the apartment to make you feel home. Please treat my home as if it was yours :-)
SECURITY DEPOSIT To answer a frequently asked question: Airbnb holds your security deposit. It doesn't get sent to me. Airbnb returns your deposit 48h after check-out provided there are no claims by the host.
If something gets damaged like a stain on the couch or you broke a glass, please be upfront about it. Accidents happen, it's not a big deal. If necessary, I will maybe ask for the cost of the repair in euros in cash before you leave (instead of going thru Airbnb, so you can get your security deposit faster).
CLEANING FEE The cleaning fee covers the cost of washing the bedding & towels, ironing of the bedding set and cleaning of the apartment. Guests are kindly asked to leave the apartment in a good condition with dishes done, trash taken out and a clean shower & sink. Thank you!
Please take care of my little gem :)

Hi everyone! My name is Thomas, I'm 25 years old.
I was born in Paris in an artistic family (my mom is an opera singer and my father a book publisher). I grew up in the countryside with cats, dogs and horses, and I have lived in Paris for the last 7 years.
I'm a musician and composer (jazz and classical pianist and violonist). I'm very lucky to be able to travel a lot around the world for concerts and recordings with my groups. My apartment in Paris is a wonderful and peaceful place in the heart of the old city, where I love to rest and compose music between tours.
I'm passionate about music (especially jazz and classical), literature (mostly French and German writers), sport (windsurfing, tennis, sailing, horseriding, skiing) and traveling.
