Marco is friendly, caring and accommodating. He is the best host I've had since I started using AirBnB! I would definitely recommend his place to a short-term guest, and I would stay there again.
I stayed in the room with the twin bed for one month. The bed is firm (but a little short). I am 5'7 and sometimes I would wake up with my feet hanging off the end. The room is equipped with two nightstands and a closet. There was no dresser, which was slightly challenging for my long-term stay.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, coffee maker and large fridge. The fridge was incredibly useful for a long-term guest like myself. The kitchen was always kept clean.
The living room is so comfortable! The Apple TV gives any guest access to HBO, A&E, Netflix, Starz... If you're staying in DC, and you are a Game of Thrones fan, this is definitely the place for you!
The downstairs bathroom is shared. The shower doesn't usually get hot, it gets warm. However, it is completely remodeled and looks upscale.
This place is located about 12 walking minutes from Fort Totten station. If you plan on working Downtown, this can be a small inconvenience for you. It can take anywhere between 40 and 50 minutes to get Downtown or to Dupont Circle using the metro during rush hour.
The house is, however, only about 10 minutes from a local Wal-Mart, Subway, KFC and Five Guys.
Note: There are three bedrooms in the house and they are usually all rented out. The stairs are quite noisy and if you are staying long-term, it's probably best if you're a heavy sleeper. Understandably, people are in and out at all hours because of their travel schedules. Despite the noise, all of the short-term guests I met were very kind.
Overall, Marco's place is a great value! A good host is priceless. All of your needs will be met in staying with Marco.
