This review comes at us from far afield.
Alex's stay was punctuated by friendly texts to us expressing her appreciation of the "boat life," which she called "amazing." At no point was there any mention of issues with hot water or electric, either over Airbnb or otherwise. Hot water is a quick fix - winter winds blow out the pilot light, it simply needs a flame. And, as we discovered only after Alex left, the city post hooked up to the boat had a faulty breaker. By not reporting her electric issues, Alex put the boat, and herself, at risk.
As stated in our winter-weather advisory in our description, winter on the Adak is not for everyone. We provide wood, three wood stoves, and space heaters - along with quick response times if any problems arise. However, this circuit cannot be completed if a guest sugarcoats a stay. Alex's frustration - the first we've experienced in over 200 guests - is mutual.
