Artist's Corner is a 4 room miners cottage in Castlemaine, a gold era town of 6,000 people 125km by car or train from Melbourne. The property is in a quiet, leafy nook 1km from Castlemaine town centre, on a 1000m2 corner block with a magnificent native garden and views over gum trees out the back. The house is full of original artwork and comfortably furnished, retaining its century old character but with full insulation, solar panels, double glazing, heating and aircon.
You will have the house to yourself and full enjoyment of the bush block, two bikes with helmets, barbecue and firepit. Two single beds can be joined to make a king bed. If you would like to bring your own linen we are happy to offer a discount. Portacot provided (byo linen). Pantry is stocked with the basics - coffee, teabags, cooking oil, condiments etc, welcome to use. Fully equipped kitchen - microwave, dining table for 6, pots and pans, utensils, crockery, cutlery, coffee machine and electric BBQ. Bathroom and laundry with soaps, shampoos, washing machine, powder, clothes rack, washing line. Bluetooth speaker. Good TV reception, all channels, dvd. No wifi yet (NBN is getting organised). There are plenty of board games and kids books and toys (including a large train set).

Your hosts Mon and Mick are not on site but we visit often and keep the place in good condition and have good neighbours on hand if need be. We will send instructions on how to get in and deal promptly and courteously with your questions by phone or email. The place is professionally cleaned between guests.
Please note (particularly if you have small children) that the block is not fenced. Dogs should be tied on the long leash (supplied) on the back verandah while outside. No cats.
