Cozy yurt in a private forest area. Walking distance to the cheese factory (ice cream, light lunches, snacks), produce stands, park and an antique store. Short drive to Madoc (groceries, beer/ LCBO, parks, beach, library, bakery, restaurants, etc). Perfect area for star gazing, long walks and bike rides.
This yurt is in a camping setting, with no shower (stays over 3 days can use the house shower) or wifi but there is electricity, indoor camping stove, BBQ, mini fridge and clean drinking water.
The yurt is on the same 20 acre property as our house, but it is in its own secluded area in the forest. For guest stays over 3 days, you are welcome to come up and use the house shower/ bath.
The yurt is all setup to cook meals both inside and out. We have provided an indoor stovetop for the interior and a small propane bbq for the outside. The outside area of the yurt is in a secluded spot and includes a seating area, chairs a fire pit and the game "cornhole". We encourage guests to pickup some firewood for the outdoor fire pit.
We do charge an extra fee for additional guests to cover supply costs and cleaning, but this is only applicable to additional adult guests. Families are welcome with no extra person fees.
If you are looking to relax and take in nature then this is the place for you.
You are welcome to walk around our 20 acre property. There are a few trails close to the yurt but they are use at your own risk.

We are often gone on weekends but we will always provide a detailed email prior to check in to help you get sorted. When we are around, we are happy to give you a tour and we are always reachable on our cell phones whether we are here or not. We also have a neighbour on hand in case of emergencies!
Please keep in mind that with the yurt being in a camping setting, there is no A/C. The inside of the yurt is warm on hot sunny days but we have provided a fan and suggest keeping the windows open (they have screens!) to circulate air.
We do not provide wi-fi. Depending on your provider, there is great reception out here still.
There is no shower but for stays over 3 days, guests are welcome to come up to the main house and use our shower/ bath. There is clean drinking water and boiling water from a water dispenser and a sink to do dishes, but there is no running water at the yurt.
The parking area is a couple minutes walk from the yurt site, down a cleared trail. It is not wheelchair accessible unfortunately.
My family and I live in Madoc, a small rural community but travel from time to time. I work as a floral designer and my husband works for a craft beer company and owns his own furniture building company. I am a total bookwom, while my husband is all about the documentaries. We have a young daughter who often travels with us and overall we are a pretty laid back trio.
I have traveled throughout North America, Europe and South East Asia and look forward to my future travels.
