The Bennett Williamson Home is a fantastic Lakeview historic duplex, 2 bedroom, 1 bath lower unit tucked neatly in the wonderfully diverse "cemeteries" neighborhood of Lakeview/Mid City. Walk to City Park, Botanical Gardens, or walk 2 blocks to the Canal St. streetcar line and head downtown. Amazing array of restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. Walk around the corner to dine at the new Rosedale Restaurant. Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families with kids.
Our neighborhood, known as Cemeteries, is a subdistrict of the Lakeview/Mid City area of New Orleans.
This home, raised and on the high ground of Esplanade Ridge, was spared flooding during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Around the corner is Rosedale Restaurant, a recently renovated old police station. I love this restaurant! The food is great, atmosphere fantastic.
Enter the home from the sunny front porch with a panoramic view of the neighborhood. Enjoy your down time in the double arched parlors, and sleep safely in one of the two bedrooms. Plenty of closet space!

My family (Lamar, Robin, Blaise, and dog Nalu) I live upstairs and live a family lifestyle. I work from home and am generally available. I love to interact with guests when possible, but am happy to respect your privacy if you prefer.
We live upstairs and make normal living noises. Our dog, Nalu is friendly but protective. We keep her inside, or in the gated backyard, or walk her on a leash. Please be aware that in heavy rains, the streets will flood. Conti Street is generally flooded but passable, but there are some streets nearby that flood substantially. DO NOT attempt to drive through flooded streets. The pumps work, but have a capacity that is exceeded at times by too much rain in too short a period of time.

Guests are expected to treat this space as if it were their own home. With two teenagers and a work-at-home mom living upstairs it is crucial to maintain a calm, quiet, family-appropriate environment. Neighbors are friendly and helpful, and very interested in maintaining a safe residential atmosphere. Please be kind and respectful (don't block their driveways, litter the streets, or invite strangers to the neighborhood, etc)
I love living in New Orleans, and love sharing this place with others. I enjoy learning about others, their lifestyles, and what makes their lives unique. My favorite travel destinations include California, New Mexico, Old Mexico, Canada, France, and Great Britain. My fiance and I enjoy eating out, catching live music shows, walking in the New Orleans botanical gardens, and of course, Mardi Gras and Jazzfest. My 2 teenagers go to a local arts-based high school. My latest local adventure is learning to tap dance! I recently joined Tap Dat, a local krewe of tapdancing performers and paraders.
