I can't understand why you made such a fuss about the wifi, John. Both on the 1st evening and the next day it WAS working... including in my room which was below yours & farther from the router than you were. You say you had to reset the router... No other Airbnb-er has ever needed to; they just type in he code!) You could have accessed wifi from the dining room or the kitchen where the signal is stronger... (About 95% of the time it is fine from anywhere in the house - maybe you were here on the 5% of days when it's a bit temperamental...) Most guests come to walk the mountains, cycle or generally sight see.... it WAS a strange occurrence to have someone stay in the house ALL DAY! The listing you booked was my best room! (albeit with the worst wifi! - cos the router has to go where the phone line enters the house in the bedroom at the other end.)
Regarding your suggestion that I was not accommodating about the wifi the next morning - I tried to make helpful comments but you shut me up, telling me you were an I.T. expert (& what did I know?) - You WERE then rather abusive, addressing me with insulting, offensive language - ("honey").. - I walked away to give YOU chance to calm down!! - and maybe offer me an apology!)
I'm disappointed you gave me so many 2* ratings JUST for wifi that was not up to your expectations - but others are fine with it! For £21 you got a luxury bed, a hot shower, cooking facilities, and breakfast, had you wanted it! Cheaper than a hostel,- and your room was freshly & thoroughly cleaned!
You write that your requirements are "fairly simple, a clean room with a desk, good wifi and a working shower." - YOU HAD ALL THOSE THINGS FOR £21!!!! (Some guests have told me I sell myself short by undercharging!)
I invite future guests to balance this negative review against my other 46 highly positive ones!
