Enjoy a lovely new home in Bloomington located in the unique Dunn Street Project near Bryan Park, only one walkable mile from the restaurants and bars of Kirkwood and IU's Sample Gates. Relax in deck chairs on the covered front porch, the comfy sofas on the back deck, or the wrap around sofa with big screen TV inside. The open floor plan offers a windowed kitchen and dining area. Upstairs, both queen bedrooms feature their own full bath. Plus, find all the conveniences you need to feel at home.
The homes in the Dunn Street Project were built 10 years ago, modeled after 1920's American homes built with solid walls, many bright windows, open floor plans, and high ceilings. This house is modern, colorful, bright, and homey with all the amenities you'll need for a comfortable stay.
If you'd like to borrow one or two bicycles to ride into town along the B-Line trail or in the many marked bike lanes of Bloomington, please let me know in advance, and I'll leave two bikes for you to borrow in the shed (one has side baskets perfect for visiting the Bloomington Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings!).
You'll need to be able to walk up the front stairs and the indoor stairs to enjoy this home.
The home offers you two comfortable queen-sized beds within private bedrooms with door locks. One offers its own full bath in the hall just outside the door; the master includes a full bath in the room. If you bring more family members with you, there is a blow up double bed under the master bed complete with a well-made German mattress (with pump), sheets, pillow cases, and a quilt. There is plenty of room for the mattress on the living room floor, and small children could also sleep on the wrap-around sofa with a few blankets and pillows pulled from the hall closet and/or master and guest rooms upstairs.
You'll have access to the whole home except for one locked upstairs room and two locked closets (we have no basement, attic, or garage, so we've improvised on storage during your stay). You'll have a lovely covered front porch and sofas on the back deck (in the shade after 3pm).
You'll have a stationary bike, exercise mat, foam roller, and 10 and 20 pound free weights in the living room (and I'm happy to leave a yoga DVD in the blue-ray disc player if you'd like). I consider that a small gym. :)
You'll see a complete list of helpful information about this home on the refrigerator door.
- This is a very quiet, family-friendly neighborhood; please respect my neighbors.
- Absolutely no parties and no smoking in or outside of my house.
- Please respect my privacy and stay out of locked areas and do not go through personal things.
- Extra toiletries are located in the upstairs bathrooms and hall closet. Please do not take more than you need.
- Please rinse your glass/metal and leave in recycling (along with paper/cardboard) in bins on the front porch. Put all trash in the kitchen trash can, not in the sink disposal or on counters - thank you!
You may use self check-in if you prefer, and will find a key waiting for you in a lock box. Or I will plan to meet you when you arrive to check in and offer ideas about Bloomington and the home. When I'm not available to meet you, my friends Annalisa or Cait will meet you to make sure you have all you need.
My husband Darryl and I live in Bloomington, Indiana and work at the university here teaching Business Communication to sophomore business students. With two grown kids and summers off, we are enjoying the freedom that comes with this time in our lives. We are lifetime non-smokers and enjoy cycling, museums, and healthy eating. Sadly, Darryl has a cat allergy, but we have 2 shelter dogs that we love who stay with our son when we travel.
