Spruce Lodge is a 3000 sq ft house in an excellent location - tucked in the woods on 12 acres of land that abuts Acadia National Park and the historic Carroll Farm Homestead. Very private setting but easily accessible to town, the harbor and many great hikes.
The house is only one mile outside of town and close to many trails and attractions. It is a 5 minute trail walk to the historic Carroll Farm Homestead (part of Acadia).
The old Dole trail provides walking access to Fernald point road which is where the Causeway golf course is located as well as the trailheads for Flying Mountain and Valley Peak. Flying Mountain is a family friendly hike with breathtaking views of the islands. Valley Cove is a stunning, cliff-lined cove, accessible down a stroller friendly fire road. Town can be reached either by a peaceful 2.5 mile walk over the mill dam, with gorgeous views of the harbor or a quick 1 mile drive down the main road. The town of Southwest Harbor has shops, restaurants, a playground and of course the harbor, where there are numerous tour boat and sailing opportunities. The grocery store is .5 miles away and Roque Restaurant is at the head of the road as is the Island Explorer bus stop (a 2 minute walk).
