This is certainly the review that every host dreads so I will try to be succinct and as brief as possible in my reply. The guest's main concern seems to be how cold the house was. This is surprising as there is a heat pump on the bedrooms side of the house which is turned on prior to the guests arriving. There is also a wood fire in the living area and a full load of wood had been delivered for the arrival of this guest. Unfortunately it was apparently wet. The guest had my cohosts mobile number to call if he had any concerns. She did not hear from him. She would either have dropped of some dry wood or he could have had a 4 day supply of dry wood delivered for $11 from the local store.
My concern with this guest was his lack of communication. He failed to disclose that he was bringing a German Shepard dog with him and that his wife was 38 weeks pregnant. If I had known either of these facts I would have declined the booking. The dog was apparently kept in the bathroom where damage to the blind, bathmat and floor occurred, and as a midwife I would have advised the guest to look for accommodation closer to a hospital. They were in a strange place which makes it harder if there are complications- which apparently there were.
Because he was using an expense account the guest had to make two bookings back to back which resulted in confusion on my part regarding the cut off date for the review. When I received the email telling me that I only had two days to write the review I felt pressured to do so. That email
