Domaine La Favette is a spacious, well restored 19th century farmhouse set in its own 4000m² grounds in a tranquil secluded location, bordered by vineyards to the front, and the River Aude to the rear.
The house is an ideal base for exploring the Languedoc region, Cathar Country and Mediterranean beaches. Large south facing terraces and private pool (10 x 5m approx.), with chairs and sunbeds. The house is 2.5km north of Coursan, giving you peace and quiet, but convenient for local facilities.
This is a large house, in unspoiled rural France, in the heart of wine-making country. It has been sympathetically restored, retaining tiled floors and oak beams in many rooms. Many of the bedrooms have antique French furniture. The TV is connected to the internet for UK channels. There is a table tennis table In the large garage. The rear gardens lead to the River Aude. Large south facing terraces run along the front and side of the house, surrounding the private pool, with tables, chairs, sunbeds and parasols, so you can eat (and drink) outdoors in peace and comfort. Drinks can be kept cold in the convenient pool house fridge.

When you leave:
• Please leave the house as you found it, and should be ‘broom clean’, and set the dishwasher running if required. Any additional cleaning required will be deducted from the breakages deposit.
• The doors and shutters should all be secured and locked, and the keys left in the locks.
• The front door key should be left in the key safe to the right of the garage doors.
Drainage at the house is via a septic tank, so please do not put any rubbish down the toilet, especially disposable nappies.
For your own peace of mind, you should lock all front and rear doors and shutters at ground floor level when leaving the house unattended, otherwise your insurance may be invalidated.
You should be aware that the following could be potentially dangerous to young or unsupervised children:
• The River Aude. The rear garden is bordered by the river. There is a gentle slope of about 10 metres down to the river at its summer level. Although there are many plants and trees along the river border, there is no fence.
• The main staircase has open tread stairs, so is a possible hazard for very young children.
• Our neighbours are farmers, and will on occasion tend the vineyards. When they are working there, children should not be allowed in the fields to avoid any danger from machinery.
