Sometimes home and sometimes overseas... Our lives are always in flux - We basically sponsor a local business to operate here - the foundation of our workshops which, when perpetuating, will do the physical building of our village project.
When we are in contact we can let you know more as to whether our dates can/will co-incide and as to whether you would like to be more 'alone' here or want to join and be part of this inclusive environment.
If you need help to get to the market - just ask for a ride with motorbike. Otherwise uber, go-jek and those ones all work from here (just not back from beach areas)...
Note 1 on 1 care must be discussed prior and we request all behaviour and medicine requirements be discussed fully before arrival.
Also this year we are building bamboo tiny house in Seminyak for Co-investment families from australia; there will be workshops being arranged and quite a lot happening ... The best way at the moment will be to bring a 'helper/support person' with you on holiday and we can take it from there. We have space for 4 volunteers (soon).
There are beautiful schools in Ubud for 'special children' which, with prior discussion, you can join for a day or a few days - its about 40 min drive from here. And now we start working with an orphanage near our building site in seminyak where we can join some sessions doing traditional dance and hip hop too. Some children here have some disabilities and we are working alongside to help improve their lives and offer the kids the opportunity to learn about and craft with bamboo.
Local schools possible to visit with inclusive disability programs can be a really nice to experience with local culture - just message me for details.

I'm a single parent of an energetic teenager with special needs who's moved to Bali to learn how to make a house out of bamboo and find other families interested in developing the concept of and co-investing in a Revivement Village where families and individuals may come "on retreat" for holiday time or live on a permanent basis.
I am currently working on building a Bamboo Tiny House in Seminyak and invite others to come and learn about building and crafting with bamboo. As an all-abilities home stay, I would love to meet other families and individuals with unique needs (such as we have) and welcome you to be a part of learning about bamboo for construction, craft and also furniture.
We offer assistance on an exchange basis so you can get off to a yoga class or take a walk on the beach if you would like to have time to your self. We are still sourcing local staff to help with personal care and training for that... And I anticipate it being available soon.
We have myself and Arief available to help generally lifting etc if required. My aim is to have a family/community environment where everyone helps each other where possible.
We have a car without ramps but easy to get in and out of and the back seats fold down and fits a wheel chair if necessary we can hire for day trips. The car is 7-8 seater. We have a local driver available and many tour suggestions. My daughter attends sunrise school Mon-Thurs 8.30-1.30pm but we are available to accompany tours at other times.
We have a schedule also for our bamboo construction and we have trips on our agenda around harvesting and helping other groups with nature-based activities.
I find here local people especially kind and caring towards my daughter. She is non verbal and I get a bit bored of the quietude sometimes so am usually happy to have visitors. I do take my own time for myself in the mornings and often do yoga before others wake up.
I'm basically sick of living and isolated life in Australia and am determined to create a future I want to live into and be connected with community and work together with others, have meaningful involvement for myself AND my daughter. I have been in overwhelm and burn out trying to care for her alone in Australia and don't get me wrong, things aren't "easy" here - but I feel much richer here and have much more opportunity to feel connected and caring from and for other people. I like the sense of motivation I experience here - without the stress (usually). That's Bali.
So if you're interested in this idea, would like to help construct our bamboo project, or just want to Be somewhere for a while... I welcome your contact and we can see how our schedules fit together.
