O ovom smještaju
Comfortable, warm character villa with fabulous all-round views just north New Plymouth.
Ideal for school hols (or any holidays), long weekends, WOMAD, concerts at Brooklands Bowl, garden festivals etc, or if you just want to get away somewhere for a day or two without paying top rates.
This property is also listed elsewhere and unfortunately the calendars may not always be synced, so bookings are not always visible. But inquire anyway because we do have two houses here.
You'll love our comfortable, warm, roomy 3 bedroom country villa overlooking the sea at Urenui, near New Plymouth.
There is a double bed & three singles. We will provide these as fully madeup beds, always with freshly laundered linen, duvets and/or quilts and extra blankets for winter stays. Every guest has a clean towel and you will love the shower.
On weekdays up to 4 people can stay here for $100 a night.
At weekends the minimum booking is for two nights and holiday weekends three nights, at $120 per night. There is a one-off cleaning and linen service charge of $80 per booking. For longer stays (e.g. more than 5 days) we will have to change the linen mid-stay and that will be another $80.
For every extra person over 4 the charge is $20 each per night.
There are also two convertible double sofa beds and a single floor squab, available with linen and bedding if required.
We provide coffee, tea, sugar and some milk for your arrival cuppa. We supply a good range of household and kitchen needs so you can cook virtually anything here on the gas hob and electric oven, plus a microwave. There's a little cooking oil, paper towels, coffee plunger, strainer, pans, saucepans, bowls, knives etc.
We want our guests to enjoy their stay without having to bring too much stuff.
You can wash and dry clothes here.
The woodburner is set ready to light and a firewood supply provided. In the cooler months you can leave an electric heater on all night. The two larger bedrooms have wall panel heaters and the double bed has electric blankets.
Free broadband wifi.
If you want to be fed and entertained as well, we can negotiate that (we like cooking but we are not professional caterers!).
Check out the photos - we have 360 degree views. We’re excellent hosts, live right next door and we just love the place.
The property is attractively landscaped and planted with NZ native species.
Location is 30km north of NP on a quiet no-exit road 400m off SH3, between two safe swimming beaches at Urenui & Onaero with allegedly good fishing. Urenui has an excellent licensed 4 Square mini-market, great cafe (Mud Bay), tavern, gas station, golf course and arguably North Taranaki's best fish and chip shop.
Richard and Jill are committed to their guests having an affordable quality experience at any time of year and that’s why they get such great reviews.
They communicate well ahead to provide route and location information and also to ensure that any special requirements are catered for.
For each new booking supplies such as fresh cakes of soap and fresh milk are renewed; other materials like toilet paper, paper towels, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, teabags and cooking oil are topped up as needed.
In winter the fire is set ready to light and the wood basket refilled. During a multi-day booking the garbage is removed daily, the fire reset and firewood restocked.
Before guests arrive heaters will have been switched on so they step into a warm house.
After each booking the house is thoroughly cleaned and aired. Sheets, pillowcases and towels are laundered, and also duvet covers, depending on usage frequency.
A welcome sheet with all necessary instructions on how to operate appliances is provided. Local attractions (store, hotel, café, fish and chip shop) are listed with hours and phone numbers.
Living close by means Richard and Jill are available to deal with any emergency and also respond to any special requests.

I've been a career journalist and editor and am now semi-retired. My wife Jill and i are keen DIYers, and her main passion is gardening and landscaping. We love projects ands that's how we have got into this business. She's an ESOL teacher and I still have a part-time job. We're bookworms, which is why we have no tv in our own house.
