Kia orana, Barbara. Thank you for your review. We value your feedback. As you mentioned, Koromiri is perfectly situated in Muri Beach. You'd be hard pressed to find somewhere better! I do apologise that the info for wifi misled you and I will reword the info. Most, if not all accommodators in the Cook Islands will charge extra for wifi as it is extremely expensive in the Cooks. Connections are patchy at the moment because our provider, Bluesky, suffered a catastrophic fire 6 weeks ago which took out all telecommunications for a period. It is now being patched through Samoa, and bad weather makes connections difficult at times. The terrible weather during your stay exacerbated the mosquito problem too. We do not usually have problems with Koromiri as it is so close to the lagoon, but we will invest in mosquito nets for the future. Unfortunately, during your stay we did have excessive rain making most places in Rarotonga uncomfortable with the high humidity. The usual sea breezes which Muri is known for were also missing during your time with us which encourages mosquitos and makes sleeping more difficult. I believe that the resident rodent that you referred to is a moko-the local term for ghecko. Ghekos love food which is left out, especially bananas. We do have the villa treated regularly for pests by the exterminator, but ants are a continual problem in the tropics, exacerbated of course by visitors who don't understand the need to rinse dishes thoroughly and store all food vigilantly. Unfortunately, everybody then suffers from the influx of ants. The kitchen is, as you stated, in urgent need of a makeover. The plans have been drawn up, and the owner is in discussion with a builder to replace the kitchen and upstairs balcony. Hopefully the veranda won't drip anymore, I don't think the first one was planned to be waterproof, but the new one should be.
