We were in LA to visit our son for the week of Thanksgiving. He lives in Culver City, and not knowing LA, I wasn’t sure where to stay. Santa Monica and Natasha’s apartment turned out to be a good choice for us. The apartment is super clean, as advertised. For a smaller unit, there is a nice division between the two bedrooms, two bathrooms and living room/kitchen space. The beds were super comfortable. The photo shows a round table with four chairs, but there is a table extension, which worked out well for our dinners of six and after dinner game nights. Underground parking and an elevator to our 3rd floor unit was also a very desirable bonus feature. Our unit had two parking spaces, which was appreciated by our son, when he came to visit since area parking is both a challenge and expensive. One caveat: the underground parking spot does not have clearance for a car driving a cargo box so we had to unpack our cargo box and store it in the apartment before parking our vehicle.
Every morning, I was up at 6:30am and went for a 1 1/2 -2hour walk to the Santa Monica beach promenade and then to the adjacent beautiful neighborhoods. The promenade is clean and I never felt unsafe. I loved not having to use a car to do area shopping (3 blocks to Vons grocery center, 15 minute walk to Whole Foods, one block from a large mall and area shopping, movie theaters and restaurants). A pleasant 2 mile walk along the boardwalk also took us to Venice Beach. An added bonus was a delicious Indian restaurant next door to the apartment.
I would describe Natasha’s as a cozy place to have adventures from. Although there is a balcony with two lawn chairs, the balcony’s view is overlooking a one way road alley with a tall building on the other side. So there is no ocean views etc.
1)the wifi worked great during our stay.
2)central air conditioning
3) The owner, Natasha is very kind and responds immediately to emails or phone call questions.
4) REI is 1/2 block away!
5) In unit washer and dryer
6) Uber drivers are plentiful
7)No lengthy list of “things to do” on last day check-out. Natasha said that housekeeping would take care of everything!
Thank you, Natasha for sharing your rental with our family.
