"Yurimila" is a secluded, eco-friendly retreat for those seeking to relax in comfort. It has one master bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed. A double-decker bunk in the main room provides a single mattress up top and a double on the bottom. The house is self-contained with a simple, open plan, timber design. The modern kitchen has a gas stove and oven and a good sized fridge. There is no laundry.
Note only the upper level is available and this is about 170 sq.m including the wrap-around decks. Access only by stairs. The ground level rooms are not available.
Solar panels provide power and water is heated by gas. A wood heater provides a charming ambience and plentiful warmth in the dry season. The elevated position provides a cool, dry change from the North Queensland coast in the Wet Season and commanding views of distant mountains through the bush.
The house is accessed via a long unsurfaced drive. It is traversable by conventional vehicles with care.
Go bushwalking on the 55ha native woodlands property or just relax in your private creek. Tour the neighbouring Wet Tropics; Mt Hypipamee National Park is just round the corner. Stay here enroute during a driving circuit of the Tablelands and north coast or just plant yourself here for a week of meditation.
No camping is allowed and no outside fires are allowed.
No pets or domestic animals are on the property nor are they allowed. This is a native woodland property in a high value conservation area. You may cross paths with native animals which should be avoided and left alone.
Feeding the wildlife is absolutely prohibited. It is bad for their health and can turn them into vermin.
