From 298 South 9th Street, Newark. Take a look at the corner of South Orange Ave (Route 510) and 9th Street ( Bus #31 stops here and there is famous St antoninus Catholic Church). Bus #31 will take you to Newark Penn Station and from there you get the Path train to NYC.
Travel down South Orange Ave… Pass University Hospital, NJ Medical School, NJ Institute of Technology( 2 blocks North), Rutgers University, etc.
When you get to Norfolk Ave (about 12 blocks away), you get to a new Shoprite Supermarket and a shopping center with has many franchises(Mc Donald’s, Tmobile,etc), Japanese and other restaurants. South Orange Ave runs into Market Street. You will pass downtown Newark which has many places to shop and eat. After a few more blocks, about 24 blocks from 9th Street, You will see the Prudential Center where many important events are hosted. Look around a little more to see NJ Performing Arts Center, Newark Museum, Branch Brook Park, etc.
Go a few more blocks and you get to Newark Penn Station.
A couple blocks up, you will find Newark Ironbound (Ferry Street) and you will find many excellent Italian (Fornos of Spain, Iberia), Brazilian, and restaurants from many countries.
Travel 12 miles to Liberty State Park and take a look at the Statue of Liberty and a breath taking view of NYC,
