Camelstop is a quiet village artisan's house with an abundance of colourful and eclectic decor, filled with art, some of which is the owner's work. This exceptional house exudes character and charm, creating an oasis of calm and artistry. The roof terrace with its Moroccan style seating, is the perfect place for evening sun downers with bar-B-Q and small kitchen nearby to make cooking less of an ordeal. You will be transported in time to another world.
This is a three story, two bedroom house, which sleeps four. The master bedroom has a super king size bed with free standing bath and sink. There is an additional toilet on the landing, directly outside the master bedroom. The second bedroom has a standard double bed with en suite bathroom and toilet. There is an extra shower in the courtyard (for use after a trip to the beach, lake or waterfalls.) The ceilings are very high and there is plenty of space to spread out, but for everybody's safety, children are strictly prohibited to be on the roof terrace unaccompanied, and parents or guardians should be aware that there are hard stone floors on the ground level.
A cot can be provided on request.
Only well behaved dogs would be welcome. I am an animal lover and understand the need to bring your pet with you on holiday.
The small house next door which has three bedrooms ( for four guests ) is linked by a gate between the patios and could be rented as one property for eight people. Listed under "Peaceful Traditional Village House"
Orgiva, in The Alpujarra mountains, is well worth a visit, especially on Thursdays (market day). Further up, the charming white villages, such as Bubion and Capileira, nestle into the hills, making for a wonderful day out. Past Capileira, there are riding stables.
Only suitable for well behaved children and pets, who must be accompanied on the roof terrace at ALL times.
I live in the lower part of the village in my studio/ home, where I paint and have a small secondhand shop downstairs, called "The Sandpit" You are welcome to drop by anytime and I am at hand most of the time for any assistance or information you might require. I sometimes have life drawing classes in my studio and would happily organise one for anyone interested, with appropriate notice.
I am an artist living in the Province of Granada since 1991. I have worked as a special effects painter in houses, restaurants and on film sets, first in London then all over Spain for the last 35 years. My passion however is painting at my easel in my studio/home, a converted barn on the edge of the village. I love second hand markets, films and listening to classical music. My motto is ' do the best you can'
