My place is close to all the amenities of Somerville: great food from around the world, renowned cafes, artsy boutiques and the T to take you to the rest of Cambridge/ Boston. Tufts campus is 4 blocks away, and we are close to 5 bus lines. Playgrounds and quiet parks abut the bike/ linear path. My place is good for urban adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and small groups. Since it is my own house, I require a short conversation to ensure that the fit between us is right.
I have owned the house for about 20 years, and in that time the house (and the neighborhood) have changed a lot. I have spent a lot of time restoring and preserving the details of this 1920's, wood-frame house: the woodwork, floors, mantel, some of the bathroom fixtures, and more are all original. I will even show you the antique "talking tube" when you get here! The kitchen and upstairs bath were remodeled last year and so they are up to date, clean and bright! The best of the old and the new.
Guests will have full run of the house, minus a few areas that are off limits for owner storage. That includes a walk-in shower and washer/ dryer in the upstairs bathroom, downstairs antique clawfoot tub, double living room, huge eat-in kitchen, elegant second floor, private front porch (nice weather only) and the yard. There is one parking space, and plenty of on-street parking with a paper permit. The yard includes a sitting area, flower and vegetable garden, lawn, BBQ, some yard toys. Please eat the vegis if you are here in the summer. We can also rent you bikes, scooters, boogie boards for the ocean, sleds, skis, and more.

I will be available by phone, and I have a local manager for issues that require more in-person help. Note that before finalizing the rental we will have a brief (5 min) conversation on the phone to ensure that the house will be the right place for you.
I can help in advance with planning day trips around Boston, Lexington and Concord, ocean, mountains and anything you have in mind. I know all the great places to take kids of all ages.
There is a guitar and older model keyboard you can play. We have toys for ages 3- 12, and lots of books.
- We have neighbors downstairs, so please take off your shoes (we have some slippers for you to use.)
- Respect this old house. It has quirks so expect the unexpected.
My family lives near Boston in the hip city of Somerville. We love the city and love to get away, too. Travels has taken us all over New England and the north east, Canada, and Europe (Denmark, Russia). Before kids, mom traveled throughout Europe, India, the USA and Brazil. Although some of us are young, we are calm and considerate of adult spaces, and only cry if we spill our milk. We are seasoned campers and guests.
