We are seasoned Airbnb Superhosts as we also have several listings in beautiful Sullivan, Maine on the coast of Flanders Bay overlooking Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain.
Please check out our many reviews of those rooms and you will find that we love being Airbnb Superhosts.... We especially enjoy meeting new people and have hosted guests from all over the world during the summer and fall months in Maine. Being able to provide a lasting memory for travelers is amongst our special delights.
Now we are happy to share another incredibly beautiful place as we have recently moved to New Smyrna Beach as residents. It is a joy having this cottage to rent because we are able to host others in a completely new tropical environment, that is every bit as special as our other listings..
Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable and fun as possible so please let us know if there is anything you need. We will try to answer your questions but will also respect your privacy.
You may obtain a pass as a guest to go onto the Drive On Beach near famous Flagler Avenue, or from 27th Avenue which is closest to our cottage.
The State of Florida and the County of Volusia each assess a General Sales and Use Tax total which is added to the listing.
- Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable and as special as possible while you enjoy beautiful New Smyrna Beach. If there is anything you need please let us know and we will try to accommodate your requests.
Unfortunately the County of Volusia charges a 6 percent vacation rental fee which we are required to collect on all rentals. We try to include this in on special offers to you after your request to book but if we simply accept your reservation then the fee is due upon arrival.
So that others coming after you can enjoy the same level of hospitality, we do have a few requests for you.

*No candles, and no smoking please.
*Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets
*Washer and Dryer is available for weekly stays or longer.
* Please use the hose off that is in the back of the cottage when returning from the beach so as not to track much sand into the cottage. Remove shoes when entering

"ACADIA LIGHTS COTTAGE" and "KINGFISHER COTTAGE"
Whether you are hoping to get away from the snow and cold in the winter months, or seek a locale that lets you experience cooler southern breezes during the heat of the summer, we have an AirBnB room or property that can make that dream come true.
We welcome you to experience a vacation along the magnificent granite coast of Downeast Maine with all of its many opportunities for outdoor adventures such as hiking or biking the mountains on Mount Desert Island and the Schoodic Penninsula, kayaking the many awesome ponds, or ambling along the quaint streets of Bar Harbor. Then, return home at night to the beauty, peace and tranquility of our place on Flanders Bay where you can enjoy the “lights” of Bar Harbor from our front porch, or an occasional campfire once the sun has set on the starlit Maine sky.
In the winter months plan a getaway to bask in the sun on the central Florida beaches of New Smyrna Beach. You might decide to take your car onto our ride-on beach on the famous Flagler Avenue, explore the historic canal street district, plan a day antiquing, or take a boat tour on the grand Indian River Inter-Coatal waterway. This area is well known for it’s delicate, unique and protected marine and mangrove eco-system. Our cottage sits on the Indian River Canal with a view of the estuary and is often visited by wading and marsh birds.
How do you decide if our places are right for your wishes and budgets? We are pleased to refer you to our many guest reviews which have established us as long term “Superhosts” . We believe that the reason for our continued receipt of the super host badge is because we sincerely love what we do as hosts. It is a great joy and privilege to welcome people from all walks of life, and from many many countries around the world to share in the natural beauty of the places that we have chosen to call home. While we are happy to share “tips” about the area, having lived here for 17 years, we also respect that guests need their privacy and allow people to simply go about their vacation at will. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
I guess you could say we like diversity, nature, and wildlife, as well as the history and culture that specific locations provide, both in the northern reaches of the great Atlantic, and the southern borders of the fabulous Florida eco-systems.
We urge you to look at our Guidebook of Downeast Maine which you will find under the listing for Bar Harbor Area Home!
