It is located in the heart of Oguni, Aso which has numerous hot springs such as Kurokawa Onsen(黒川温泉), Waita Onsen(わいた温泉) just to name a few.
The room is one of 5 rooms in a guest house - 民宿 which my parents run. The guest house has a large shared hot bath which is not Onsen, but you can drive or take a bus to the town's popular Onsen Spots within 15 mins.
My parents are semi-retired, so neither breakfast nor dinner are included. However, there are many local establishments in walking distance.
It's a 8 tatami-mats room on the 2nd floor, and it accommodates 3 people comfortably. There is a lot of light as the room faces south east. From the window, you can see Oguni's landmark, Yu-Station. For sleeping, we have Japanese traditional style futon for you.
We have a large jet bath on the 1st floor. There are a sofa and an electric massage chair(15min/100yen) in the common area on the 2nd floor.

My dad took some English conversation classes in the past, so he should be able to communicate in simple English. If you need further assistance, I will be available to help via email or call.
After having lived in the US for more than two decades, I moved back to Japan in 2015, and I currently reside in Tokyo. My parents have a guest house(民宿) in a small beautiful mountain town called Oguni, Aso in Kumamoto. They still run the guest house, but they are semi-retired and I am helping them remotely.
